"We happened upon this hotel by chance and it is one of our favorite hotels up to this point. As soon as we stepped into the lobby we knew it was going to be perfect. The hotel lobby is the picture of a forgotten time. The dark wood floor, the velvet couches and chairs, and the open fire place set the mood immediately. "We were less than happy with the Admiral Motel in Scarborough, Maine. It was advertised as "squeaky clean" but there were bug splatters on the walls and the window casings were dirty. Our bathroom door wouldn't close properly which caused some uncomfortable moments. It did have a mini-fridge and a microwave but no coffee pot & we didn't see the advertised "continental breakfast." The rooms were very, very small but it is fairly close to Old Orchard Beach. I guess you get what you pay for! I know...
