No getting around it is an old hotel and we loved it! Do to a review that I was a little disappointed I couldn’t get the room I wanted, the staff called our room and gave us an upgrade for free! It’s awesome that they pay attention to social media, which made our stay even better! Thank you Marshall House!

The property was clean and well maintained. Staff was courteous. The room itself did not really inspire, and was quite small. And though they advertise the balcony as a place to enjoy the nightlife, we (2 people sitting at a table enjoying coffee) were asked to keep our conversation down. It was disconcerting and disrespectful. I’d give it 3 stars.

We like the convenient location. The room was spacious and the staff was very accommodating. Enjoyed the availble water. There were a few condition problems in the room. A shower head that they fixed, a bad iron that they replaced and the charging station didn't work. Didn't like the $43.00 per day charge for valet.

This was our first time staying at the Marshal House. We were able to check in early and park in the public garage behind the hotel. Very convenient and cheaper than the valet parking. They offered free water, coffee and tea all day. They provided a wine and cheese happy hour everyday between 5 and 6:30 with entertainment. Breakfast each morning. Great location for walking everywhere. Very historic building and very welcoming!

Overall it's a very nice historic hotel. Beautiful on the inside and breakfast was delicious. My only issue with it was the way the balcony was advertised. I was under the impression that everyone had access to the shared balcony space, but this wasn't the case. Only certain rooms on the 2nd floor did and we were put on the top floor, the 4th floor. When selecting the room from Expedia, it should have made it clear the rooms with access to the balcony and the rooms without access. Not sure how it always seems to happen, when checking it, always being put at the top floor.

This hotel values its past over comfort. Our room had an ancient tub surrounded by a shower curtain and no grab bar. The toilet was tiny. There are apparently many such rooms. You need to know to avoid them. A lovely downstairs and excellent adjoining restaurant do not make up for seedy and noisy rooms. Or an alarm clock that went off at 5:30 am! Not coming back.

Loved the Southern charm of this property and the staff from valet to check in were very welcoming. We arrived on a social event being held in the hotel lobby a happy hour trivia. We arrived too late to participate in the trivia but observed the results of the trivia with a complimentary glass of wine. The included breakfast was delicious and a unique checklist buffet style. Lots of shopping outside your door. Loved the adjoining bar.

Although there were redeeming characteristics the one star rating is that we got a terrible sleep between the noise of the air conditioner and the street noise we got virtually no sleep. The hotel said they would have accommodated the room charge but because I booked through Expedia and not them directly that they could not.

The free breakfast and HH was nice. They also gave us complimentary water. The location was also very good. But overall it was just too old of a property for me. The floor creaked very loudly in our room. The noise level in the hallway was a bit loud. And there is no where to put your makeup/toiletry bag down in the bathroom. No counter space whatsoever which I prefer to have. I loved Savannah and plan to return but I wouldn’t stay here again. Personal preference.

Location is unbeatable. Nice and welcoming valet. Front desk nothing special. Room was terrific, though the a/c was like a freight train when it kicked on. Breakfast was good, not special. Newly renovated bathrooms were quite nice. I appreciated the historical vibe and original wood floors! Would return with slightly different expectations.
