Guests arrived late and wanted a room close to their friends. Complained that they didn't like the room. We offered them another queen room and also a family room for the same price, just to make them happy. But they wanted a room close to each other. It was hard to accommodate on a long weekend.

Great building and private suite. Gas fireplace a blessing in cold stormy snow. Space to wonder indoors. Close to lake for winter walks or uptown. Front staff very considerate and helpfull.

I had to ask for hand towels and face cloths. No soap in dispenser at sink. No spare toilet paper, only roll on holder. No instructions for operation of TV. No one available to show us.

I visited for a stormy off-season weekend, and nearly had the place to myself. The hosts were very welcoming, the (stormy and deserted) beach was very close. Great place, hope to see it some time in sunnier weather.

Stay away, not worth your time and money!
Outdated hotel with old mattress and bed sheets. Hallways had an awful smell. You could hear conversations from the neighboring bedrooms. The very small bedroom was far from being clean: There were spiderwebs on the lamps, hair in the bathroom and soap on the shower curtain. When I told the front desk lady the room wasn't clean, she answered "No, it is clean" ... I didn't even try the included breakfast, served from 8:30 AM, at which time I had already left this filthy hotel

The worst place I have ever stayed. There was no one at the front desk ever. The rooms are very very small and bathroom is even smaller.

This could be a lovely spot but is very tired. Rooms are extremely small with old curtains etc. so much so that it felt like camping not a hotel. Very clean and a nice backyard area but the whole place has not been updated for decades. Our TV did not work and when reported to staff (who was very nice) they just said property is being sold but didn’t offer any solutions and just said the wifi was working. Could be a lovely spot with total refurbishment but wouldn’t recommend at the moment. Very bare bones.

While the location was great (just a few blocks from the shore), this bed and breakfast stay was only so-so. The room was very small, the bedding had a musty smell, the hot water supply took a while to reach the room, there were no kleenex available, and the breakfast was only a continental (toast, yogurt, etc.). Further, communication with staff was difficult. I did like the use of the kitchen facilities, especially the refrigerator/freezer for storage of cold items, and the availability of hair dryer and glassware.

I never felt unsafe, so there is that. Unfortunately everything in the hotel is very run down, there’s zero sound proofing, the hotel appears to be family run & they don’t seem to have adequate staffing and expertise and everything is done on the cheap and it really shows. The worse part was we get into the bed (for the first time) and we felt sand. I went immediately to the front desk to explain the situation and instead of an apology and a quick fix, I had to convince the worker/owner that I was telling the truth. When she arrived to changed the sheets (with clean but ripped ones) my wife helps her make the bed and she didn’t say sorry, thanks or anything. So much for customer service. If you have options, don’t stay here.

Great stay
This place is a great place to stay for a B&B. Our room was big with 2 queen beds, a full bathroom and a door to lead outside to a huge courtyard/backyard. The backyard had lots of space for seating ,it has a fire pit and bbq. The lobby is very quiet and love the old fashioned furniture with a hint of new stuff. They have a sitting area where you can visit or do work. Attached to that is a nice breakfast area. The breakfast area is set where they could serve a hot breakfast along side the typical cold cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, and breads. They also had coffee and juice. There was what looked like an old bar which if they sprucced it up and got an liquor license it could bring in more revenue and give the guests a nice relaxing drink. The inn is a 5 min walk to the beach and boat docks. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean, mind you they could've cleaned under the beds a bit better and night table as we found an entire full sized lemon behind the lamp table lol , gave our family a laugh. All in all , it is a great place to stay and we definitely would consider staying here again.

Sadly our tv could not be used. The owner tried his best to fix it and spent considerable time on the phone with the provider to no avail. If we were staying longer we would have changed rooms. We will come back again

Windspire Inn is a beautiful Inn …immaculate ! Property is well maintained. Our room was very clean & tidy, with fresh linens and clean white towels. The room wasn’t overly big however, we only slept & showered there, the rest of the time was enjoyed on the beach. I would highly recommend Windspire Inn as we are sure to come back again.

It looked lovely and has good potential. A young man served as host. He had the doors locked when we arrived at 4;20 and we had to call him to let us in. Rooms were small and the restaurant not open. The room was poorly equipped (Chairs unseen/TV limited. Manager was not on duty once we had checked in. Breakfast was sparse.

The room did not look like the advertising - so small you could not get into the bed from one side, there was just a small gap between the window wall and the bed. We are seniors and climbing over one side is very hard. The bathroom although very clean is so small you can hardly get up from the toilet - as mentioned we are seniors who need a bit more elbow-room. It was hard to find the staff, when checking out in the morning. I can not recommend this place to my friends. Marta Hauri

Shower - no cold water...only hot (scalding) and the handle fell off. Hot room - was shown to our room, window open, AC off, room hot as hell. The whole place was hot. Hair dryers are out in the hallway on a table. Wife used one and it only blew cold air. When I checked in, the staff had no idea I was coming. The guy didn't even pull up the booking on the computer...just handed me a key. Decent price, nice people...they just don't seem to have their act together. 3 stars.

Upon arrival the doors were locked and no way to get in. We walked around the property before someone came running out bare foot. After verifying our identity the front desk clerk took us upstairs and looked inside the room for a few seconds before letting us in and before saying it was ok. Not sure what he was looking for. We walked in and he checked the bathroom for us and did the same thing. We decided to leave and discuss our options which in the end we decided it was not safe or very clean to spend the night. We moved on.

I'm truly sorry for you experience. what happened was that you had the double room and upgrade to the queen room with out asking. so I was just checking to see if everything was ok in the room. I would love to get your feedback on how I can do things a little better next time .
