"Returning to the hotel after 30 years and in very different circumstances, it was a stay which enabled some closure, but also saddened a little, as I found the building gloomy and unwelcoming, the grounds and parkland around it untidy and uncared-for. It was a noteworthy and useful base from which to explore however and even though the breakfast spread was uninspiring, there are numerous restaurants nearby for dinner. A hotel with a history which the owners may one day more overtly embrace and a resort not far from the airport which with further, considerable investment could be made more attractive and viable to overseas visitors to Sarajevo and its interesting environs."
