"Beautiful property! There was plenty of parking available to us. No contact check in was a breeze. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Because we were planning on having wine with dinner, we took an Uber for a very short ride into town for a delicious traditional Portuguese meal. The hotel provided us with great breakfast buffet with a variety of hot & cold items. "

"When planning our walk on the Rota Vicentina, we weren't sure the extra distance to reach Quinta Chocalhino (Cowbell Farm!) from Odemira would be worth it but it was and Teresa made sure we didn't have to walk any farther than Odemira. Our stay at this family-run agriturismo was lovely: our room was incredibly comfortable and breakfast was perfectly suited to our tastes and dietary restrictions (one of us is a gluten-free vegetarian). We didn't have much energy to explore the grounds (or try the pool) during our one-night stay but we loved that there were donkeys, geese/ducks, turkeys, dogs, and cats staying on the farm with us. We got rained on during our day's walk to Odemira and were pleasantly surprised to find a clothes rack and dehumidifier in our room for drying out our wet gear. Teresa also lit a fire in the Great Room for us and we relaxed after dinner in front of the fireplace with our books and delicious red wine from the Alentejo region. We left the next morning rejeuvenated and ready to tackle our next stage to Sao Teotonio!"

"We stayed in early March when next to nobody was holidaying. Essentially, we had the estate to ourselves! The breakfast was worthwhile. The room and facility was immaculate and beautifully presented. Even in peak season, the expansive estate offers tranquility and long views over patures to the Atlantic which is an easy 1km stroll to dramtic cliffs and the Fishermas trail. Highly recommended though, being off season, the diningroom was closed. O Sacas, a seaside restaurant, is a 5min drive to a fantastic meal."

"Stunning vista in the middle of the Portuguese countryside, featuring an infinity pool, with lots of space. It is in a very remote area with no public services, facilities or buildings for miles. Classy decor and staff and great value for money. The staff are just wonderful, so delightfully friendly and warm"

"Beautiful surroundings, but the rooms don’t match the price or the photos Monte de Alpadueras sits in a truly stunning natural setting — surrounded by fruit trees, wide-open skies, and the gentle sounds of sheep, cows, and birds in the distance. The outdoor scenery is peaceful and restorative, and the pools and landscape make it feel like a hidden countryside retreat. However, once you step inside, the charm begins to fade. The photos online make the rooms look bright and spacious, but in reality, they are dark, small, and filled with heavy, old mahogany furniture that gives off a musty, lingering smell. The walls are thin — you can hear everything from other guests, which makes rest difficult even in such a quiet location. The bed was by far one of the most uncomfortable I’ve had anywhere: the mattress was hard, uneven, and squeaked loudly with every movement. The bathroom was extremely cramped, with a shower so small it’s difficult to turn around in. When I arrived, the bathroom lights went out — staff kindly tried to replace the bulbs, but the issue wasn’t fixed, and I spent three days using a dark bathroom. Breakfast was included and served daily, but it was exactly the same every morning: cold ham, eggs, bread, coffee, and juice. The fresh juice was lovely, but a little variety would have gone a long way. The property itself is quite remote — you really need a car, as taxis are expensive even for short distances, and walking to Zambujeira do Mar takes around 30 minu"
