Small and beautifully decorated hotel. The pool area was pretty. The breakfast was lovely and the staff friendly. The housekeeper Paula was friendly and helpful. We would stay again.

The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was very comfortable. We arrived later than we had told the host, but Pedro was waiting for us and appeared within seconds of us getting out of the car. He explained everything and even showed us how to work the shower (which is lovely). The breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and home made preserves, was simple and perfect.

Herdade do Vau is truly an oasis tucked away in the heart of the countryside. While the journey to get there is a bit of an adventure—4 kilometers along a rocky road (more rock than dirt, despite the hotel’s prior description)—the effort is well worth it. It took us about 20 minutes to drive the track, so a car is essential, and once you arrive, it feels like a secluded escape, making leaving feel like a challenge in the best way. The hotel offers the option to pre-order dinner if arranged in...

The place was very special but they need to change the lunch menu as we had the same food every day. Even some specials would be good. Wonderful stagmff and fabulously horse riding

A brilliant property with a fantastic host, fantastic hospitality and fantastic views. I would highly recommend this property. What a beautiful little village Monsaraz is.

excellent position in the heart of the old town. 4 poster bed was nice. Roof terrace was lovely. Bathroom was stone walled and impressive but no hot water :-( However we had a great breakfast in the morning. We could park inside the walls - a bonus.

Magnificent building with very friendly staff.
I had dinner at the convent which was great local dishes and very reasonably priced.
The one minus is no pool - with hot dry weather a pool is a must!
