This property has been renovated after the hurricane and is all fresh and new. Nice decor and colors overall. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were great. Pool and beach are very nice.
I downgraded by a star for two reasons: the glass barn door to the bathroom and the “nightlight” that cannot be turned off and is way too bright. The combination of the two resulted in a poor nights sleep because we couldn’t get the room dark. I dislike glass bathroom doors anyway from a privacy standpoint. But looks nice.
When I arrived and staff assisted me to my room with my luggage, I was on a second floor room towards the front of the property with no elevator. This room I assume is one of the “old” rooms that had not been renovated. It was disgusting, with stains on the carpet and scratched up furniture. I expressed my dismay and the staff did change my room, to one of the updated rooms that faced the pool on the lower level. Once my room was switched I was happy! Staff was accommodating and kind. Beach access is right in front of the hotel with chairs for use. Pool is small but nice. Walls and floors are a bit thin, which was a little annoying but it’s manageable. Make sure to bring no see um spray- they are nasty at dusk. Overall was happy with my stay!

I apologize that you were not happy with your original room. We are still in the process of renovating from the hurricane but hope to have all the rooms updated soon! I am glad that we were able to get you in a room you loved.
Great location, beautiful beach easy access. Recently renovated clean rooms. Enjoyed our stay here, would recommend to friends and family. We would stay here again.

I apologize that you were not happy with your stay. We are still remodeling from the hurricane damage and hope to have all the rooms updated soon! Next time you are visiting, please mention that you would like to be in one of the newly renovated rooms and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Great location with direct beach access. Rooms all remodeled and clean. Nice pool and Tiki bar with good poolside snacks. Still rebuilding but plenty of restaurants and stores open and happy to have customers. Shelling was very good during our visit. Found better shells at beach right at hotel than we did with private boat charter to local island. Cost of hotel on pricey side, $750 for two nights after taxes and fees but perfect for our short stay.

Absolutely loved this property. Everyone was friendly and everything was immaculate! We’ll definitely be back.
Thank you!
We had a nice stay here, perfect location on the beach. We were able to ride our bikes to lighthouse park beach with shared paths on the island. We would definitely return. The BRGR restaurant on site was great also.

We are glad you enjoyed your time here and look forward to hosting you again.
Exorbitant daily "Resort Fee" for parking and a bottle of water (which we never saw). This is a rip-off.

I apologize that you were unhappy with the resort fee. This fee does cover the bottled water and in room coffee service as well as the complimentary beach chairs we put out and take in every day that are for our guests only on our private beach along with the pool towels, use of the pool, pool staff and tiki bar use and staff.
loved the palm trees surrounded the property. grounds kept very nice. Beds comfy, baths spacious and updated!! Staff courteous and helpful. Pool area nice,
clean and loved Tiki bar! Grouper and chicken nachos were delicious. Quiet area, felt very safe to walk beach at night. Will return to stay here

Gorgeous property and they were able to fulfill my request of being close to the beach due to a recent knee replacement. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property even more! Staff was beyond kind and accommodating!

Visited in December 2023. Island and many properties still suffering from Hurricane recovery. Property was okay shape. Beaches were deserted. No place to eat close by. Many businesses closed. No taxis. Bike rental on Main Drive was great. Golf cart rental also good. Be sure to clarify how they charge the hotel convenience fee.

Thank you for visiting. You are correct, businesses are going to take a great deal of time to recover fully from the devastation that occurred on the entire island. We are doing our best to rebuild as quickly as we can. I am glad you got to enjoy the peace and solitude on the beaches. This is when the island is the most beautiful.
Remodeling looks nice.
Very expensive stay for average room.
The no-seeums are out of control.
We bought spray, avoided sunrise & sunset and got eaten alive! My guess is 1,000 bites each; they feel like chicken pox on steroids. *We feel there were many in our room, possibly by cleaning staff propping open the door while cleaning. There has to be away to get them out of the rooms. It really put a damper on our vacation. I even woke up with bites on my face, neck and ears! I don’t think I could go back because of this. 😞 And that’s so sad…I truly love Sanibel Island.

March and April are the months that the no-see-ums are the worst and due to the very stringent regulations on the island, the use of spray and pesticides is strictly forbidden. Unfortunately, these pests live in the sand and not just on the beach. This means that they are generally brought in on shoes and on people's pants and legs and some people attract them more than others due to their body chemistry. They do survive for a few days and can continue to bite and get worse. I am sorry that you experienced such a bad case.

This is a nice place to stay, however, the “no-seeums” make going outside almost unbearable. My wife was bitten up so bad she couldn’t leave the room and will be itching for the next week.
Again, the rooms and staff, and location were great, but those bites are terrible.

James, I apologize that the insects made your stay so unbearable. Next time you are here, the front desk staff is happy to show you the locally-made, all natural spray that we carry to fend them off!
It is a beautiful place with excellent staff. Everyone was friendly and courteous and so helpful. Room was beautiful. Grounds are beautiful. The only thing we missed was more dining options on the premises. Going out to eat was a drive, not far but still had to drive. We plan on coming back again.

Dan, Thank you for your feedback. We can't wait for some other restaurants on the island to open back up so that there are more options for everyone! Sanibel Island will be back, better than ever!
Had an amazing stay here! Rooms have been recently redone following Hurricane Ian. Lovely, comfortable room & bathroom. Best part is the proximity to the beach! Just steps away. We went to multiple beaches and liked the one right at the resort the best! Yummy food at their on-site restaurant. Super convenient location to access the rest of the island. Highly recommend! Looking forward to going back!
The location was great, the cost was extremely reasonable, there was a very short walk to the beach, the staff members were extremely helpful, and one even helped me find my lost cell phone. The food in the adjacent restaurant was excellent.

Oscar, I am sorry to hear that you were bitten by the Ceratopogonidae (no-see-ums) that are inundating the entire island right now. We do have pest control spray where we are legally allowed. We try to educate every guest at check in and offer solutions to limit the exposure but we must have fallen short mentioning it to you. On your next stay, please let me know and I will get you some spray to help keep them at bay.
Great beachfront resort with very clean rooms and attentive staff. But pack extra strength bug spray. There is a heavy Mosquitos presence on the resort campus and beach. My wife was eaten alive. The likely breeding ground is the sitting water swamp near the tiki bar. Hopefully they will drain it or fill it with sand

I appreciate you writing about your experience. We do have plans for a fountain and landscaping in the pond near the Tiki bar. Due to island regulation and because it is close to the turtle breeding grounds, we are unable to fill it in, but we do plan on turning it into a beautiful area with flowing water soon. We can't wait for you to see it when you return.
The property was close to the beach, great pool and bar. the rooms were clean and quiet. It was very relaxing.
I wish we would of got more information at check-in on more of what they had to offer.

This property is right on the ocean and recently renovated due to Ian. Nothing fancy, but great staff, cute outside Tiki bar and overall grounds are super nice. Sanibel has yet to fully recover from Ian, but get some bikes and enjoy the outside and you'll have a blast!
