We considered staying in Paestum to be close to the great temples but knowing that La Mortella was only 20 minutes away convinced us to try something different during our Italia tour. "L'Aia is a nice B&B (not Resort) with a very friendly owner (Vincenzo) that does everything to make the stay welcoming and relaxing.
The room has a good size, and the exterior has beautiful views. The swimming pool is gorgeous, and the BBQ/Bar area is a plus.
Internally, the shower does not have a consistent flow of hot water, with intermittent cold/hot flows. Hard to relax in the shower because of that. Towels are not changed daily unless asked. Toiletries given are minimal (lack of shampoo...

"Historic 19th century manor modernized approximately for a lovely stay. War the museum and archeological site, yet away from the busy entrance cares. A wonderful restaurant that one needs to reserve for an exclusive chef directed dinner. Novel and well prepared. With special touches that Chef Luigi creates. Other excellent restaurants and bistros in walking distance. This boutique hotel is best for adults, but children would be fine —just not at the restaurant. Fresh fruit and chef-baked bread are part of the buffet breakfast as is home made cheeses and condiments. A great place to be after a day walking among ancient ruins and elegant temples."
"We arrived early at the hotel and we're allowed to park at the hotel while we walked to the ancient Greek Temples which were an easy walk from the hotel.
The hotel had beautiful grounds and a nice swimming pool.
The room was nice and clean, but simple.
We atedinner and it was delicious, as was the morning breakfast.
All in all a great stay and we would do it again. If you are going to see the Temples, it is worth a stay. "
