"Picked the grand room and it was very dirty. Smelled bad and obvious stains all over the floors, walls, couch and windows. Screen in the bathroom had tons of smushed bugs all over it they never bothered to wipe clean. Mold and mildew all over the bathroom fixtures from neglect. Also very very cold at night in the mountains with no in room heating and just a single thin blanket. "We recently stayed at The Experience in Chiang Mai and found our stay to be overall okay, but with a few frustrations. The breakfast was decent—you’re able to choose one main item from a menu, with additional fruit and toast available buffet-style afterward. One issue we had was with our room. The original room we booked did not have a window, which was not ideal. Although there were upgraded rooms available (and the hotel seemed quite empty), we were still charged an additional 1000 baht to switch. This felt disappointing, especially considering how important something as basic as a window is for comfort. We also booked an elephant tour through the hotel, so we were surprised there wasn’t any flexibility or goodwill gesture when it came to the room upgrade, given we were spending extra money with them. Overall, the stay was fine, but a bit more flexibility and customer consideration would have gone a long way in improving our experience."

"This is a budget friendly hotel. Cockroaches are common in Thailand and during my 14 day stay I killed 6 in my room. They would “make up” the room but didn’t change my sheets the entire time I was there. I had a tattoo on day one down my spine. That night it bled a little and I asked for room to be cleaned but they didn’t change sheets. Most staff is friendly but not overly helpful. Breakfast was very basic. I suggest spending the same amount of money and walking to a local cafe. The pool is exposed to sun but the chairs are not so you cannot enjoy the sun outside of the water. Of people are talking or fighting in the hallways you will hear it in your room! My biggest complaint was the bed. It was literally a queen box spring with a 2 inch pad on top of the box springs. It was not comfy at all. If you’re looking for cheap this is an ok place. If you’re looking for quality and comfort I would not recommend this hotel."
