"For some unknown reason this place was already rated "excellent" whereas there was no previous reviews. So I felt a little bit manipulated as this place without being bad was way overrated. Although the place is generally clean, it nis not maintained properly. Some stuffs need some fixing. The room I stayed in for almost 10 days had suffered water leakage in the wall which resulted in traces on the wall which has not been redone or even painted. "The club lounge is definitely worth the upgrade. With a very nice breakfast and evening cocktails. The week I stayed the beach was closed with construction machinery on it. I would’ve liked to at least been notified of this situation. For the beach the alternative is to go to one of the island beach clubs which you NEED to do your own research on, as it became abundantly clear that wherever someone recommends is getting a kickback from and this brings me to the concierge that recommended mine which was ok but lunch was almost inedible. The concierge hours are inconsistent and can literally take days for you to track down. There’s a lot more to this part of my disappointment but non need to go on a tirade. That aside they have a very relaxing pool and decent food with some polite staff. The immediate neighborhood has ample services and places to eat, but is a bit dicey with aggressive vendors and street walkers. The area of the walled city is a much nicer neighborhood to stay, aside from not being on the water but if you’re going to be a patron of the beach clubs in baru or the islands, you’ll have all you want."

"Our stay at Hyatt Regency Cartagena was a wonderful experience overall. The hotel is beautiful, modern, clean, and offers breathtaking views of the Caribbean. The pools, the atmosphere, and the location were perfect for enjoying Cartagena with our family. The staff was kind, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. The service was excellent, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality that made our vacation memorable. Our suite was comfortable, spacious, and perfect for our family. One thing we would suggest improving is the check-in experience. Since we arrived earlier than the official check-in time, we had to wait several hours for our designated suite, even though we were traveling with two small children. It would have been helpful to have a faster solution or a more comfortable arrangement while waiting. Despite that, our overall stay was amazing, and we would gladly return. Hyatt Regency Cartagena is a beautiful hotel with great service, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting this incredible city."

"I travel to Bocagrande, Cartagena at least once every year and usually stay at another hotel, but during this visit I decided to try Gio Hotel for a change. Unfortunately, my experience was mixed and ultimately disappointing. On the positive side, the location is excellent very convenient for getting around and the pricing is fair for the area. The lobby is beautifully decorated, and I really enjoyed the free pool table available for guests. Breakfast options were limited, but the food itself was tasty but small. I also want to recognize a few staff members who made a positive impression: a young man at the front desk, the bartender in the evening, and a shorter woman in blue they were all helpful and professional. However, there were several issues that impacted my stay. Cleanliness needs improvement, as I noticed stains on the sheets, and the towels appeared worn and in need of replacement. Additionally, the hotel seems to have too many rules, and much of the staff came across as unfriendly. This created an uncomfortable atmosphere at times it felt less like a welcoming hotel and more like staying somewhere where you don’t feel at ease. While the hotel has potential due to its location and amenities, the inconsistencies in service and cleanliness would make me reconsider staying here again. Unfortunately, this will likely be my first and last visit. These are my personal observations, shared in the hope that management takes them into consideration to improve the overall."
