I have found that Omni hotels can be relied upon across America. Staff are always very helpful, facilities are excellent and rooms are very comfortable. The SF Omni was no exception.

Great location and staff

Posted 20-Mar-2017
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location! The hint that stuck out most to my husband and I though was how incredibly friendly and helpful everyone at the hotel was. We travel a lot and this may have been the nicest staff we've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

First class Hotel close to all the action

Posted 14-Mar-2017
Pros: The staff is excellent. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for me during my stay.
Cons: In this day and age charging for internet connection is way out of line anywhere. For most people and especially business travelers it is a necessity.
Location: Cable car line right outside (I'd suggest the day pass), 5 easy block walk to Ferry Building. Pickup point for many site seeing tours.
It seemed that nothing went totally as planned during my visit to San Francisco. I left my phone in the Uber car I took from the airport. The staff went into action and helped me get it back. This was certainly not their problem or caused by the hotel but they jumped into action anyway. They treated me as if I were an important visitor during my entire stay. This alone will make this my hotel of choice any time I'm in the area. The room was excellent and clean. The prices of everything was high but normal for a top hotel in the center of any city. San Francisco is not 'Podunk' and all prices there reflect that. The bar was often crowded (a sign that it is well liked) and the restaurant's food and service was excellent (and as I noted pricey). It is right in the center of most of the action and I always felt safe walking to locations of interest.

Great service, rare great service

Posted 14-Mar-2017
Pros: Great location, clean....5 star customer service
Cons: I think some of the concierge staff could be a little more knowledgeable. They were all attentive and helpful, but a couple of them didn't know much
Location: Only a few blocks to Union Square, 6 blocks to the Ferry building
Someone greets you at the door, in the lobby even the staff cleaning on floor you are on

A appreciated respite with a NASTY SURPRISE.

Posted 05-Mar-2017
Pros: Very comfortable.
Cons: Greater transparency regarding parking cost at booking... even though the price was in the small print.
After my son was discharged from the hospital at UCSF, we decided to "treat" ourselves to a one night stay in a lovely hotel. We searched on Expedia and found what we thought was a reasonable rate at the Omni. While we expected a parking fee, we did not search the small print for the exact price. There was no self-park, only valet... and PARKING WAS A THIRD OF THE COST OF THE HOTEL ROOM! We were shocked. When I discussed this later at the desk with a clerk who was very pleasant...she said that she agreed but that business people who generally come to the hotel are willing to pay. It seems bordering dishonest that a hotel would advertise with a "sale" price on Expedia and then bump up the price by so much in a separate charge. Also, Expedia states " No surprises! Here’s a breakdown of your price:" and this does not include the parking surcharge at a hotel with no self parking. Well, I guess the old saying, "Let the buyer beware," is still very apropos.

Luxury!

This hotel is always amazing! The view we had wasn't the greatest though, all we could see was the building next door.
