exactly what you need for a few day trip in a convenient area. it's what you expect out of an inner-city hotel that isn't a huge chain, but honestly gives you what you need (minus breakfast but oh well). rooms are small, but the beds are comfortable and have a fridge and microwave. i spent a bit extra for a private bathroom which is best in my opinion. staff were super helpful and welcoming, even giving me an earlier check-in.

Loved my stay at this hotel! A tiny room nestled in a beautiful part of SF at an extremely affordable price. It's no Marriott, but it's lovely if you don't mind small spaces. I've had a love/hate relationship with SF but the location of this hotel made me fall in love with it again <3. Only downside was that the room's toilet was broken during our stay, the chain was a bit jank. It only really failed our last day there so it wasn't too bad. Aside from that, the bathroom was really nice! You can tell it was recently renovated! Anywho, if you're going to SF on a budget I can't recommend this place enough!

This is a great place for an affordable price. I would definitely stay here again. The walls are quite thin, but I was able to sleep quite comfortably.

This was a terrible experIence. The room was dirty with Ants crawling the walls and on the bed. One of the windows didn’t shut and it was drafty and so incredibly noisy. Interactions with the staff were very unpleasant. I felt like an inconvenience. I will say that they did let me check in late due to a flight delay. But even though I rung ahead to confirm that I would be late the staff member was very abrupt with me. There was no complementary coffee or anything in the room and only a coffee machine in the reception area. But you could only use this between 9am and 12 noon. Overall this was a very disappointing experience.

I didn’t like the shared bathrooms and when I tried to pay for a room with a bathroom in it the front desk guy was like this is the room you paid for and I work in hotels myself so I know you can switch rooms for a extra fee , I didn’t like how there was no elevator and we was on the 3rd floor was out of breath by the time we got up to the room and there was no ac in the rooms and if you wanted to look out your window there’s like 50 other people watching you there’s no views of the city unless you go in the hallway and look out the bathroom

This is an old property. Like real quirky old. But it’s clean, the staff was great, and the location was quite convenient and beautiful. I genuinely loved this spot.

For the price I paid, I am generally satisfied with my experience. The location is safe and the staff were very helpful and readily available. Some feedback: I could not figure out how to unroll the window blinds, and there was a slightly unpleasant smell. The blanket was also extremely thin. Other than that, everything was great.

You can enjoy quintessential SF experience here since the room is typical SF apt. room. It's quirky and comfortable. The location is great, one block away from painted ladies, a few blocks away from dinings in haight st. The windows are not sealed against noises. So it's very noisy in late night and early morning. I was very tired, so was able to fall asleep with all the noises going on. Once I woke up in the early morning, I couldn't fall back to sleep with the endless noises from the street.

I've stayed at Casa Loma about 4 or 5 times. My brother lives nearby. It is a completely serviceable place to stay. The neighborhood is generally quiet, though Fell and Divisadero Streets tend to be quite busy. I'm a sound sleeper though some reviewers complain about the traffic noise. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance, good bus lines (SF is much smaller but has much better transportation system than L.A. - I took the BART and one bus to get from the airport to the hotel), clean, basic rooms though nothing to write home about. Which is fine with me because I'm not visiting S.F. to sit in my room. I'm just there to sleep and bathe!
