"I stayed here because I needed to fly out of the Sunport early in the morning, so I was looking for a close place that wasn't in south Albuquerque. I was travelling, and realized that I would arrive at 2pm. Check in time is 3pm. At about 9am, I called to ask if I could have an early check in (one hour early). The man I spoke with said that it would be no problem. When I arrived at 2, the woman at the front desk literally rolled her eyes and scowled at me, and told me that if I wanted to check in, there would be a $20 charge. I stated that the man on the phone earlier had approved it and not mentioned a fee, and she said "It's twenty dollars-do you want to check in or not?". Not wanting to give her the satisfaction, I went next to door to Chili's and had a couple beers. I went back at 3 and thankfully the witch was gone. The man at the front desk was cordial enough.
This place is run down and weird. The lobby has a little 32" TV. The whole place is under construction, and from what I could see, the work was horrible. If you have OCD don't look at the tile in the lobby, OMG.
The room had a small TV on top of the dresser, nearly touching the ceiling. Weird. One drawer next to the A/C (under the window) was not closed all the way, so I pushed it and the A/C turned off. I pulled the drawer out and they had cut a small hole to plug in the A/C which could only plug in halfway and is a fire hazzard. When the Marriott opens this place is done. It smells funny too."
"Stayed for 2 nights. On the first night the air conditioning unit was so noisy it was impossible to get any sleep and finally had to turn it off. the window did open but there wasn't a screen on the window so then we had bugs come in. My husband sat in the desk chair and it collapsed backwards on him and he hit his head and injured his shoulder. We immediately notified management about the chair and the air conditioner unit and they did nothing except bring us a new chair. The maintenance person said they would see if they could move us to a new room because of the loud cooling unit but there was no follow through at all. Then the 2nd night our key card was deactivated and we had to go to the front desk to get it reactivated. The person at the front desk said we were only scheduled for 1 night. This was not a great experience for us at all and no one cared."
