The location is fantastic, especially if you’re visiting Normandy to see the D-Day sites. Everything I wanted to visit was easily accessible from the hotel. "Just pulling out La Ferme des Mares, a charming establishment that provides everything except showers and an apology or discount for providing showers. Should you decide to visit, my advice is that you check the hot water before accepting the keys so that you don't have the unhappy experience of discovering an ice cold shower upon waking the next morning. And no one at the reception to assist you until 8:30 AM when you need to check out."

"Antoine gave us a warm welcome and carried our bags up two storeys. The house if full of character and we enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the chickens. In the morning Antoine served us a delicious breakfast with fresh eggs and apples from the garden."

"The room was clean and adequate for a short stay. There was no fan or way to cool the room. The bed was firm. The breakfast is an additional 15euros and is at best worth 10 euros. It was not stocked well either. The staff was polite. The water machine poured warm water. There was No ice. I KNOW that is not common in Europe but be the "extra"ordinary....not the standard. The location was convenient. We would not stay again if we had other options."

"A lovely place to stay after a days cycling. We were greeted warmly and shown to the room. We were able to secure our bikes in the garage. Dinner was excellent and breakfast was fine with lots of choice. All in all, a very good nights stay."
