Just to be clear my scoring system:
1/ Don't go, just don't.
2/ I can't recommend going
3/ I enjoyed it but probably won't go back
4/ I enjoyed it, would go back especially if invited
5/ I enjoyed it, would invite others there myself
Complete luck we found this place but it is AMAZING! After introducing myself with my very best French I was answered with a handshake and in a full English accent "Shall we speak English? I'm John!"

This delightful old property in the countryside, with a welcoming host, diner was served in the garden & breakfast was very satisfying. We only stayed the one night while en-route through France, but could have stayed longer.

Beautiful unique property in the centre of Medieval Airvault .Coffee machine and kettle in the room for tea and a little cake was supplied along with a new fan which was much needed and appreciated due to the extreme temperature during our stay.
Lovely continental breakfast. Would recommend.

We had a lovely overnight stay en route to the south of France. We arrived quite late as we had been at Puy Du Fou during the day, but communication was easy with the lovely host. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our enormous family suite. Breakfast the following morning was delicious - yogurt, fruit, croissants, brioche, fruit tart and coffee / hot chocolate - perfect to set us up for a long drive. The dogs were a hit with the children too.
We were sad to be leaving after such...

We stayed here a few years ago as their first customer, and now we have stayed again—nothing has changed; it is just as perfect as it was before. The room is comfortable and cozy, with everything you need and beautifully decorated. The owner prepared the best breakfast of all the accommodations we’ve ever stayed at, even compared to five-star hotels.

The hotel is in a quiet location away from the centre of town, which was exactly what we wanted, but town is just a short car ride if you need anything there. It's just a short dive into Saumur and is close to all the Loire valley attractions.
We were shown to a good sized room on the ground floor overlooking a large well kept garden with a nice pond. The bedroom furniture was very plain but was completely functional. The bathroom was a good size but oddly had no shower screen or curtain - this...
