"From the outside of the castle it looks very impressive but like all old buildings they are a bit rundown in places, but it was clean, our room was very spacious and looked fantastic from afar but when you got closer there were a few issues, mainly in the bathroom but it wasn’t enough to ask for a change of room.
There’s no lift available so be prepared for either long walks through several corridors or several flights of stairs to get to your room, that was the only downside.
The breakfast was help yourself and there was plenty of choice, we ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely, but be prepared for very high bar prices for drinks, £12.50 for a large glass of wine, there’s a few pubs about a 7 minute walk away. The grounds are lovely and there’s several peacocks wandering around, they were a bit noisy at times but we enjoyed our stay there."
