The grand cafe is a lovely place to have a coffee and watch the ships go by on the river Maas. The rooms are large and comfortable and offer the same, lovely view over the river. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Great stay!

It was unpleasant to arrive at midnight, enter the room and see that it was used by the previous guests. I have never had this experience in a hotel in my life. There was no formal excuse and we received a payment back from the reception because we requested and talked to them the next day (we were moved to another room, thanks there was one room available!). They should improve their customer relationships procedures. The room was confortable, correct space and light. The room should have some maintenance retouches (oxide in the bath, painting in some parts). The personnel of the restaurant is kind and the breakfast is standard. Considering the area, it is at a nice spot, with parks around, and 10 minutes walking to the train station to Rotterdam center.

The hotel had a nice view, and the room was clean. However, the air conditioning in our room was weak and didn’t cool the space properly. One of the biggest disappointments was the housekeeping and staff service. We asked multiple times for our room to be cleaned, but it was either not done at all or done with reluctance and poor quality – in fact, the room was sometimes returned in worse condition. The breakfast area looked nice, but the food itself was basic, lacking variety and quality. Worst of all, around 90% of the staff were unfriendly and unprofessional – from the breakfast staff to the reception and the cleaners. Their attitude was often rude, unhelpful, and careless. Overall, we left the hotel with frustration and disappointment. We will never stay at a Delta hotel again, anywhere in the world, and we would not recommend it to anyone.

There is a lot to like but equally a lot we disliked. For starters our Captain suite on the second floor doesn't overlook the river but looks out onto the restaurant build right in front. No blackout curtains means waking up when daylight hits the glass front. Noise is another issue, room doors do not close softly but slam shut, not good. Our upstairs 'neighbours' were clearly noticable, very annoying. Our fire alarm went off twice all because of a shower and I guess, my wife's hairdryer. Checking the bathroom extractor flow, almost nill.. I can summarize this by stating, no I will not book this hotel again..
