"The welcome here couldn't have been more warm, it is a lovely little boutique hotel on the register of historic hotels in Norway. It's a bit of a walk uphill from the train station, but well signposted and you get a taste of the sights of Roros on the way. There are two cosy lounges that just feel like you are at home in your own livingroom, with a fireplace in one and free tea/coffee and cookies. I don't usually use hotel lounges but I was very comfortable in this one, reading and doing a bit of knitting. The room was spacious and attractive, with a view over part of the town. Breakfast is a small buffet, a bit crowded with residents due to limited space and there was no dedicated gluten free area, but I got to try brown cheese for the first time. Staff were happy to store my bag both before check-in, and after check-out, and even let me wait for my train in their comfy lounge. A nice experience and I enjoyed looking around Roros. The guesthouse does not provide evening meals so you can walk down into town to one of the restaurants there."
