Comfortable and friendly. Sat out front on a rainy morning (after a full night’s sleep in a comfy bed) with my book, a cup of coffee, and the neighborhood cat listening to the thunder rumbling in. A delightful morning and a delightful stay.

Cute historical motel, very nice grounds. Standard room is a little tight, not much room to navigate or store your luggage. Clean, comfortable bed, would stay here again.

Great stay overall!
Lovely hotel. Stayed in the Garden Room, a nicer suite. It was very plush and nice in the areas you could immediately see, but really dusty and dirty in the places you couldn’t see. The train runs every 2 hours or so about a block and 1/2 from the hotel and they lean on the horn whilst passing. If that kind of ground rumbling horn blasting noise would bother you…. Well, you don’t have many other choices in Rockdale.

You've got to try this place!

Loved the quaintness of the hotel, the kindness and friendliness of the managers and the grounds at night were so cozy. We did notice a very high pitched noise one morning and believe it was water in the pipes from another unit making the noise.

Stayed for one night with our family. Staff was very friendly and room was clean. Super cute motel. It’s older so the rooms are a bit small, but that’s to be expected. Cute shabby chic decor.

The big let down was how tiny the rooms are, not sure the bed was a queen or a double, the bed was like a hammock, we kept falling into each other and both woke up with sore backs and necks. The property itself is nice, but they need to invest in some beds and if you are claustrophobic or want any kind of space do not stay in the small cottages. They do offer other spaces that look larger so try that if you want to stay here.

Thank you for taking the time to send us a review. I am sorry that the room did not meet our standards or yours. You booked our smallest size room which is also the least expensive. We have only 5 rooms that are this size with the remaining 27 rooms being much larger. I apologize for the mattress and will certainly correct this issue. The most precious place ever! You just gotta stay here if your in town or just driving through, you won’t regret it. The staff was amazing, the property was beautiful and I love history so staying in the oldest motel in Texas was super cool!

I wished we could have stayed another night!
Rainbow Courts was such a surprising and wonderful find. The property was well maintained, the room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. I actually wished we were able to spend another night there. I will definitely stay here again, if given the chance. Oh, and the banana nut muffins in the office in the morning are delicious!

I’ve stayed here before & every time check in is a breeze! Now they recognize my name! Rooms are always top of the line. It’s great having maid service daily. Most hotels are not offering this amenity.

Pleasantly surprised!
We had not been to Rockdale before and when looking for a place to stay Rainbow Courts had a high rating. That held true and the hospitality was so refreshing. The complimentary hot apple cider was the best I believe I've ever had. It was just a quaint and lovely place to stay, like a step back in time when these were the typical type of overnight accommodations If I have the opportunity to stay in Rockdale again I'll definitely stay at the Rainbow Courts Motel!

Great spot! Very clean and comfortable. We really liked how the rooms were set apart from each other like individual cottages. The room included a small living area which we also enjoyed. Everything was immaculate!

Gym in Rockdale Texas
It is the oldest motel in Texas. Has been refurbished and is a gym in small town Texas USA! I would call the decor country chic. There are a few different styles of rooms to choose from. Pleasantly surprised!
