"First, this is NOT a hotel. These are two rooms in a stand alone building on the beach. The upper floor over the rooms are a gutted building, full of junk and pigeons. The doors on the room do not close properly and have a gap of about an inch. So, we woke up in the morning full of mosquito bites - not cool. There was no hot water. The room developed a terrible sewage spell, which the staff worked hard at getting rid of, but it did nothing to enhance the stay. This place is nowhere near Crucita...

You will have a key to your room, but to gain access to the compound you will need to ring the doorbell each time you come and go. My Spanish is limited, but I knew I had to pay cash upon arrival. "Clean, comfortable, friendly, and a great location. Karla was a fabulous host, her breakfast was so delicious with fresh Ecuadorian fruits, eggs and bread. The grounds are beautiful, lovely pool surrounded by lush local gardens and indigenous pottery. Our cottage was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed and ample storage space. We had a fabulous 5 nights, thanks to Karla's hospitality, lovely weather and the Pacific Ocean just across the road. "
