Great location, the room was comfortable and clean, the staff was super friendly, and we had an overall great experience. Access to/from the parking lot with one's luggage is not the "easiest," so if you're traveling with kids/pets/considerable luggage, be ready to burn some calories! It was unfortunate to see the amount of homeless in the areas surrounding the hotel; when taking our dog out at night we saw it at its peak.

Everything that we wish to see was in walking distance. Would have liked to have had a map of the surrounding area with restaurants and entertainment venues in area.

Annual visit to the Roanoke Hampton. Impressed with all staff, very accommodating, hard working and kind. Impressed with housekeeping staff. Hotel could use an update but very satisfied with our stay and will return in the future.

Not quite as wonderful as usual
We've stayed here several times and have always found the accommodations wonderful. This time, though, the staff seemed overwhelmed. Check-in was at 4:00, we arrived at 4:05 and they weren't sure our room was ready. We had friends traveling with us - their FIRST stay here - and they were sent to a room that wasn't yet cleaned. They had to be moved to another room, and, unfortunately, they were kept awake most of the night by a whining dog, a party and a fight. Truly a disappointing experience for them. This will not hinder us from giving it another shot on our next visit to Roanoke, but I don't adhere to a three-strike rule, with me, it's two strikes and you're out. Sorry.

So much comfort
We enjoyed our stay. Beds were very comfortable. Food was excellent. The only negative was the faucet in the bathroom apparently had not been cleaned properly I a long time. There was buildup around the faucet handle. I cleaned it with a washcloth the first day. Even with the do not disturb sign on the maid came in while we were out and made our bed. That is a little odd.?

Check in very slow. Then they put us in a room that was not ready(it was well after check in time). The room had leftover food in it and no bed linens. So back to the front desk to wait in a line again and they sent us to another room. The room beside us had a dog in it that barked and cried for 3 hours and another room people yelled and partied until after 4am. It was a horrible stay not all to the fault of hotel staff. The hotel is nice, it was clean and comfortable and it is in a great location to visit downtown.

Great location but major issue with elevator
The elevator was out of order and the front desk clerk had no idea how to tell us to get to our room on the 7th floor. All she could say was that she had called the manager.

We are sorry to hear your stay with us was less than perfect. We have just upgraded our TVs to standards and do hope you will come see us again. We are up to Hilton standards and do not offer glass wear any longer but do offer other drinking cups other than the coffees cups and they are available at any time. Wry well situated in Downtown Roanoke. A definite revisit and stay. Only negative thing staff on evening shift not that friendly . She didn’t come off as a good “people person” of that makes sense. She needs to learn to speak up also. I was having her to repeat herself several times. Not that she a bad employee but she could use some more training on dealing with the public.

They don’t tell you that it’s an $8 daily fee to park. When you park, you have to go outside to get to the lobby. There is entry from the elevator. That means if it’s cold or raining you will be put in the elements. Secondly, they place a $50 hold on your account for every day that you stay. Refund is not given right away.

The bed was slept in and sheets not changed when I arrived and a drip behind the toilet and rust coming of the shower. This was more like a motel instead of hotel because of the lack of cleanliness. I couldn’t wait to leave.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Room could have been a little cleaner - hair on the shower wall and on the toliet, corners of the bathroom weren't super clean. The drapes didn't cover the corners of the windows and it was light a bright light was on until we fi ally got out of bed. Breakfast selection is very vegan friendly.
