Loved the ocean view from our room and the bar service at the pool. The included breakfast offered variety and satisfactory quality. Our bathroom was dirty and full of mold. It was in poor repair and made the whole room smell unhealthy. Housekeeping did not change our towels. Checking in was painful. It was nice the agent spoke English but the process was slow and inefficient. There was an issue with our reservation which Expedia resolved but the hotel was unhelpful. Before checkout I shared my concerns and no apology or compensation was offered. Checkout was slow. The price we paid was very good in Canadian Dollars but I would not recommend this hotel in its current condition and lack of staff training.

Rooms are a bit dated; however, they were kept clean. The view is outstanding. My praise for Lohan for an outstanding customer service and for Victor for his accomodations from date one. Breakfast was very good with a daily good selection

Incredible staff. Though there was a language barrier, they ensured that my partner and I were well attended to with all of our questions and requests. We were happy to have stayed at this hotel. Since our arrival to our departure, it felt like home.

What i didn't like was the shower water never got hot and i was not informed that there was a cost for parking. Also didn't know that breakfast was not included. Other than yhat it was great.

Stayed at this hotel in October 2021 with my family, staff were very friendly, room was very clean, the breakfast buffet was great and the view from the windows are stunning. Loved so much that I came back this year with a friend and our stay was even better than last year.

The people were trying to help but poor English. I was waiting 2 hours for my check -in without reason. The breakfast was boring and poor every day the same. The room was clean and the girls who were cleaning the room very helpful .No action around the area .Safe area good for families.

Beachfront hotel
Great hotel, especially if you get ocean view room. Great, great breakfast. Check might be a little long though as is anywhere in Brazil

The A/C wasn't working and there were no towels and smoke detector in our room. Despite asking for towels twice, we still didn't get them delivered and had to go down to the lobby to get them.

Not worth booking. Bad service and experience.
We booked the room based on the pet-friendly icon at the booking platform. Uppon check in we were charged extra fees. We parked the car with Valet ad charged for it. Valet was not there most of the time. Rooms were average and mattress old and not even. We checked out 4 hours after check in due to these reasons and that a brazilian singer also died there a while ago.

Brisa Barra was excellent, however I cannot give it a full 5 rating because they charge an absurd amount of money for guests, even if they come in for a few hours. I had the rates be anywhere from 40 reais to 150 reais, depending on the day. To me that's unacceptable. If someone wants to visit me for a few hours, they should not have to pay almost what I pay for a night, just to stop by. They lost a rating solely because of this. Other than that, excellent hotel. Great views, if you can see the water. Excellent services, amazing staff, already ready to serve. Incredible kitchen, amazing breakfast with all you can eat buffet. Parking options available, nice pool (when it does open after the pandemic, if ever). Overall a great looking building. As for the area, it's Barra da Tijuca, you can't go wrong on any property in front of this beach, and area. There are so many restaurants, shopping malls, gas stations, entertainment, and miles after miles or great beach, I'd live here.

The property was dirty. There was stains on the sheets, hair all in the sink, and the overall cleanliness was poor. Additionally, they gave us a room key for a room where there was still guest in! We opened the door on a female changing. She came out and verified that they are still guest and not checking out.The bellman just shook his head as if this is a regular thing and laughed it off. He then went to get us a new room and room key. This incident made us feel very unsafe. As a result, we ended up checking out shortly after and lost out on the money for the three days we paid. I do not recommend this hotel! They didn't even apologize for the mix up.

Mildew and bad conditions don’t waste your money
My first night December 2019 the room was horrible the room smelt like mildewed and next to the bed smelt urine, no hot water and sink was clogged. next day the room had water leaks in ceiling. I complain and they move us to other room smelt like Fresh paint and the pillows smelt like mildew next day the bathroom had leaks in ceiling. they moved us again because the bathroom conditions was unsafe. the front Desk staff made a mistake to move us to the room because the room wasn’t ready for guests. We moved again to the last top floor one bed partial ocean front manager could give us a better room because it was full later I discovered by the maintenance guy that 8 months ago the hotel had a broken pipe water damage from 10th floor down. Manager charged me 2 nights that I stayed in their unsafe rooms I couldn’t do nothing because they want to make money, I don’t recommend no one to stay at this hotel I made I big bad decision to stay there. please see pictures.

Nice hotel! Bad front desk service.
Hotel was very good. Nice view of the sea and comfortable beds. Room service was great. My only problem was recepcionist was not very friendly. I wanted a late checkout due to my flight leaving later the next evening and wanted to pay for it but it was a headache trying. They dont attend with a smile.

Hotel on the beach front
The hotel is right opposite the beach, our room had a sea view, it was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we arrived at 5:30 am and they made us feel comfortable until our room was ready. The reception staff spoke English, the rest of the staff didn't but they were friendly and we easily managed to make ourselves understood. The hotel is outside the busy tourist area which we preferred, it is near the Barra Shopping center which is very modern and worth a visit.

Really great hotel on the beach!
The hotel is fantastic. The staff are really kind and speak english. The breakfast is superb - starts your day off perfectly. The hotel condition is a bit dated, especially the bathroom. Bring adaptors if you are N American as most outlets are European. The beach is lovely, but the water is super cold and quite rough (lots of undertow so be prepared if you enter). There are places to get water and food along the beach, and vendors really don't bother you at all. The hotel provides chairs, umbrella, and towels for the beach. There are a few (limited) restaurants near the hotel (the Hollandaise is quite good), but we used Uber to get around and this was very efficient. The Brisa Barra shopping mall has plenty of good choices for food or if you want a picnic on the beach, go to Carrefour supermarket, it is huge with extensive choices of everything!

Great hotel with two downsides
I was there for business. Great hotel, excellent service, great breakfast, great location for business, 10 mins away from Rio centro (convention center) Downsides: heavy construction next door, too noisy. mattress as hard as an ironing board, bad night sleep.
