"I have given a 5 star rating which is down to the super friendly staff and the good standard of breakfast, furniture and service. The hotel is well located, both for the promenade and the town. It has free parking and breakfast was included in our room. This made it even better value for money. It is an old building, in-keeping with the area, but it is clean and comfortable inside. The staff are so attentive and eager to please. We were very happy with our stay."

"The Groes is a lovely place to eat and stay. Our room was spotlessly clean with an amazing view from our patio. Our room was a little tired but perfectly passable. If you struggle with mobility getting in a bath for your shower then check with the hotel before booking as ours was quite deep. Lovely powerful shower tho!"

"We had a really enjoyable stay here as a family. The welcome at reception was warm and friendly, which set the tone for the whole trip. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the beds in particular were excellent. The bathroom was spotless, and the toiletries were a nice touch that made it feel a bit more thoughtful than the usual budget offering. WiFi was reliable throughout and the TV worked well, which kept everyone happy in the evening. Breakfast was the one area with room for improvement. The food itself was fine, but the buffet could have done with closer monitoring. A few items ran low and were not topped up quickly, and at one point there were no clean plates available. Nothing that spoiled the stay, just a small thing that would lift the experience if the team kept a closer eye on it. Overall a comfortable, well kept hotel with friendly staff. We would happily stay again."

"Perfectly located central hotel with loads of character and charm and parking too! The staff are so friendly and helpful and really went that bit extra to make the stay more enjoyable. Sunday roast was very tasty and our waitress was outstanding. If you have a big car you will need to use the hotel carpark across the road as to access the rear car park you have to go through a very narrow archway. Room was very comfy and well furnished although if you are road facing you may get a bit of noise in the morning but that wasn't an issue for us."
