Rude staff at checkout
We got a lecture at checkout about not eating everything on our plates from the free breakfast buffet, animals died and we didn’t eat every scrap. In a “pet-friendly” hotel we also were berated because our clean, beautiful Weimaraner puppy sat in a chair at the reception/checkout counter. Someone doesn’t need to be in the hospitality business. With many other options, we cannot recommend this slightly rundown hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Rheine Hotel Arte in Kripp, Remagen. Wonderful view over the Rhine from their enclosed conservatory where we ate breakfast every morning. Our room was very spacious with an ensuite bathroom. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was buffet style. It was superb with an extensive choice of meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, fruit and a very simple cooked breakfast as well. A gentleman at reception was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to give lots of advice on places to visit and things to do in the locality. About a half hour walk into Ramegan and the ferry( foot and car) across to the east bank, Linz, was right by the hotel. It was also convenient that you could have dinner at the hotel if you wished to do so: not particularly cheap, but very nice.

Great hotel, excellent service, fantastic location
Very friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant and the food was really good. The buffet breakfast was also good and the hotel location is fantastic, right on the river and a only a one minute walk to the ferry that takes you over to LInz, a lovely historic town.

JUST LOVELY
What a great place to stay! The staff were great and very helpful with suggestions for things to do. The location is quiet and set on the banks of the Rhine with amazing views up and down the river. The restaurant is lovely with fresh food served beautifully - fantastic cooking by the chef. Would strongly recommend this hotel for anybody wanting a few days to relax and take in the sights of the Rhine Valley.

Nice hotel - we were expecting a room overlooking the courtyard but were given a room overlooking the Rhine. Only concern was that it was a limited menu so we ate elsewhere the second night.

We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfy and everything was very clean. Beautiful bathroom and a gorgeous terrace with a direct view on the Ahr. I highly recommend their restaurant. We had a great dinner with local food and wine. Also their breakfast buffet was delicious! Overall a very pleasant stay.

This hotel was great. Right on the Rhine river. There’s a little restaurant in the hotel. It serves a great German breakfast: bacon, eggs, lots of breads, cut up meats and cheeses. We got the room with a balcony and it was great. Beautiful views of the Rhine and Linz. The hotel has stairs and we were on the 3rd floor. We were able to walk on to the ferry and take it to Linz. Costs about 1.40 to get across. We had a great time walking around the town shopping and eating at outdoor restaurants.

Need to upgrade their pillows and towels.
A little difficult to find but eventually got there. The reception was very quick, friendly and helpful. Could not get lunch till after 2 pm. The hotel is very big and old German design with timber. Our room was at the top attic and smaller than expected. The bed was a little hard and the pillow was very flat uncomfortable. Phoned down for new pillows but unable to have anyone understand in English. Later we got a call back and wanted to know if we wanted a bottle of wine. No I said we need new pillows and bigger towels as the ones we had were thread bare and small. Something was said in German and they hung up. It was unacceptable. After a restless night sleep we managed to enjoy our breakfast.

A great place to stay
What a fabulous hotel. We were greeted by Daniel who made us very welcome and provided us with all the information that we needed to fulfill our plans for the stay. Daniel is a credit to the hotel The place was spotless, the room and bed very comfortable. The menu in the restaurant was extensive and the quality of the food excellent (best Schnitzel ever). All in all we highly recommend the RheinHotel Arte.

Lovely hotel
A very friendly hotel, we were doing a long weekend on our motorbike, there was ample parking with sheltered / secure parking for motorbikes. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and clean, food was very good for breakfast and the main restaurant with an outside seating area to enjoy your food / drinks while looking over the Rhine. We would definitely go back.

Great German Rhine Hotel
Great German hotel. Food was fantastic. Location about 300 yards from ferry to Linz. Looking from dining room across Rhine was like a postcard.

The hotel was clean, and comfortable. We stayed for two nights and ate at the hotel, the food was amazing, tasted delicious, very big portions and the deserts were scrumptious. The only down side was the area was flooded when we got there, which meant we were unable to trek along the river. However we enjoyed our trip.

excellent location near Remagen
do young staff member doing our check-in was excellent at taking care of an issue. She was very helpful and accommodating. Your room overlooked the Rhine River and we learned in the morning that breakfast is included. The breakfast buffet was delicious and you could not ask for a better way to start your day. I wish we would've been able to stay more than one night.

Definitely worth a stay.
Nice welcome, very pleasant room,no lift but stairs not steep and easily accessible, pleasant location with lovely view from restaurant balcony. Dinner choice very good,also breakfast. No air conditioning in room but the room large so not stuffy.

Great little find en route with panoramic views
Beautiful position overlooking the Rhein. The extra cost for the roof terrace was worth it for panoramic views. Great food and good service. Usual breakfast offering. The ferry to Linz is a must do and find the Aldstacht for inexpensive restaurants and cafes in a pretty location.

Good location by the riverside. Great restaurant with terrace. Staff multi lingual. Parking for many cars but does get crowded so parking was an issue when we arrived. we had a great view from the room we were in ( #24) . Would stay here again. Wifi was good

Great Eclectic Hotel
Beautiful eclectic hotel with a great staff. I didn't give it a full happy face for comfort as it has no elevator and steep stairs. If you have a walking disability I would request a room on the lower level. We would definitely choose here again if we were in the area.

A room with a view
The hotel is ideally situated for watching the various vessels going up and down the Rhein. Our room was large but the ensuite, although it was quite adequate, was small. Everything was very clean and well appointed. We ate there the 2 nights we stayed and the food was good and the portions were very generous. The staff spoke some English and although this was limited we found them helpful and polite. We would stay here again.

Good hotel in a quiet location
This was a very nice hotel in a lovely location overlooking the Rhine (worth paying extra for the balcony). Room was clean and spacious and the bathroom great with an excellent shower and nice free products. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was really good and really good choice for breakfast. Lots of free parking at the back of the hotel and the ferry to Linz (a must see) is a short walk from the hotel. We walked into Remagen alongside the river (about 45 mins) and would recommend a visit to the Peace Museum - really interesting. Also lots of good places to eat. Not so much to do in Kripp where the hotel is situated although there are some nice strolls especially along the River Ahr where we spotted a kingfisher. My one criticism is the poor wifi reception which caused us real frustration - it may be free but it's not worth it if it doesn't work! Also, there is no lift if mobility is a problem, although this wasn't a problem for us. All in all, a lovely place to stay - just wish they would sort out the wifi.

Had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly & very helpful & the room was spacious and very clean. We had a lovely meal at the hotel restaurant. We loved the river views from the room & hotel balcony & a stroll to the ferry enabled us to spent a delightful afternoon in Linz on the other side of the river. Would highly recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Enjoyable
We only stayed one night. It was enjoyable and nice and clean, but the noise from the trains kept me out of sleep. Maybe an air-conditioner for summer so that patrons can close the windows? A small bar fridge in the room will also be nice.
