We stayed in Traben-Trarbach to visit the Bernkastel Weinfest, to which we travelled on the regular passenger ferry along the delightful Moselle river. The Golden Traube was only a short walk from the ferry stop, and was close to numerous restaurants and cafes in Trarbach. It was an excellent base to explore the area and the towns.

From the initial welcome; to the helpful conversation about my ongoing route plans; to the helpful offer of where to park my motorcycle safely, this was the standout stay of my journey from the UK through Germany towards Bavaria.
Lovely, characterful building, affordable rate and genuine interest in me, the traveller.
I will most certainly look to stay here again; so many interesting places to visit nearby, and a feeling of being 'home from home'.

Just good for facilities as no plug socket near mirror for hair dryer and no tea/ coffee making equipment in the room which was in the garden so a good walk to restaurant. Even if this is not usually supplied, perhaps it should be given the location and standard.

Easy to find with SatNav. Friendly reception staff. Room was lovely, though wasn't garden view (facing the roof with a bit of countryside beyond) and no slippers as suggested on website. Lovely comfortable bedding, no fan or air conditioning but a nice breeze in the hot September morning. Breakfast was fine with standard continental choices. Ample parking and Wi-Fi worked OK. If we had more time we would have enjoyed a game of table tennis in the garden!
