"We stayed in one of the rooms facing Eden Drive, which is the main drag into Bar Harbor. Despite this, the room was very quiet. The unit was upgraded and has been done nicely—paint trimmed out well, baseboards neat, carpet and laminate laid well. New commode, shower insert, vanity with Corian-type top in a pleasing finish, resembling raw concrete. Floors solid. Sliding windows upgraded to dual-pane vinyl. The mounted wall heat/A/C unit worked well and was quiet. New furniture in dark tones, a very comfortable bed and a neutral scheme of ocean blue, tan and white. If I were to suggest a change, it would be the curtain color. Minor. The room was clean. The clear glass vanity fixture was sparkling. The towels were mid-grade, in great condition, and there were plenty of them. Lotion was not an included amenity. All-in-all a very satisfactory room located across the street from the College of the Atlantic, across the street from a free trolley stop and a 15 minute walk to downtown, allowing us to minimize driving in the traffic and avoiding paid parking."
