"DO NOT BOOK THIS GUESTHOUSE - YOU WILL REGRET IT !!! My room was dirty at check in (like previously lived in dirty) No staff found on property No response via telephone, text or email for over 21 days now. No accountability. When i finally found someone to clean it - it was STILL dirty afterwards and I could not longer find any staff members to finish the job. I have been waiting 21 days for them to respond to me. Hotels.com (who i booked through) has been waiting 12 days for them to respond to my refund requests.... and wont refund me until they reply..... And they just refuse to respond!! The one person I got ahold of by telephone said "she is reservations only" gave me an email address to complain to with my issues and then hung up on me when I begged for a phone number of a real person who could help me. Oh, and this place was grimy - stains and goop in the fridges, no power to the entire communal eating area on check in and grime in the corners of the bathroom."

"This was a favorite stay during our travels in Iceland. The location was so pretty and quiet, the rooms and common spaces were clean, and Unnur provided a lot of useful travelling tips and local knowledge. There were games available in the common area, and free breakfast waffles in the morning. The hosts were very friendly. I only wish we could have stayed longer!"

"We booked 2 rooms ($954.76) for one night from Expedia.com , received messages about the room# 22 and #4 and access code to each room. When we got there 9pm, Room#4 was open and not cleaned at all. Room4 is connected to other rooms that were all messy. I sent messages, called the phone number listed, no response, then called Expedia support, Mario tried to contact the owner and called me back without solution. Later I got the message response with a new room#22, but no access code. We tried many different combinations and finally got in. Then 2 guys came to the site. It was after 10pm. In the next morning the owner came in and apologized to us. He said he drove 1 and half hours and complained about bad communication from Expedia like not giving him my phone number for him to call etc. Compared with the other stays in Iceland like Vik, Geirland etc , this River Front lodge is the most expensive with very small rooms and tiny bath sinks. The breakfast is good though."
