"Die Rezeptionistin (angeblich Chefin d. Hotels) war sehr unfreundlich beim einchecken. Kommentare wie: "Sie kommen ja aus der reichen Schweiz" als ich nach den Parkgebühren gefragt habe, sollte sie sich verkneifen. Unverschämt! Die Rechnung konnte am Abend nicht bereit gemacht werden, so dass ich es am Abend bezahlen konnte. Zum Bezahlen der 5 Zimmer brauchte ich am nächsten Morgen über 30min. "Excellent, first class service from our morning waitress Cresily who looked after us exceptionally well. Room was generally good but area around the outside doors to balcony was poorly maintained with big cracks around the frame. Curtains could not be drawn fully leaving a large gap at the top. Air conditioning was not working in the room when we arrived Tuesday evening and after raising this with a member of the reception staff the following morning, it was discovered there was a general fault in the hotel and a firm had to be contacted to fix it - which they did on Friday. It meant the first 3 nights were quite uncomfortable for us as it was quite hot in the room. Despite the hotel advert stated "Soak up the sunrays by the outdoor pool with sea water" when we booked the holiday, the pool was CLOSED which was a very big disappointment for us. Two separate events at the hotel meant the outside facilities were curtailed for most of Friday and the following day an afternoon and evening event lead to noise in our corridor which was not caused by hotel residents."

"Nice location in Opatija. A bit difficult to park and check-in, we parked in nearby parking garage and then staff gave us directions to their parking lot. It is a bit of a walk from parking to hotel. We had a standard type hotel room with a view over the trees to the bay. Very nice old hotel. Very walkable once you have checked in."

"This place is magical! Terrace has an excellent view. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. Showers are European small. Staff is so nice. Spa looked nice, didn’t get an appointment because I waited too late. The Opatija area is just gorgeous. Free swimming areas set up in the Adriatic Sea, right outside the hotel. Walking path along the sea. I wanted to stay a week but only booked 2 days."

"Das Hotel ist grundsätzlich gut instand gehalten. Das Gebäude ist recht gross. Je nach dem wo das Zimmer ist, muss man recht viel laufen. Schöne Aussicht. Pool ebenfalls. In Hauptsaison ist der pool sicherlich zu klein. Schönes Spielzimmer für Kinder vorhanden. Minibar im Zimmer leer. Nicht mal eine Wasserflasche im Zimmer. Rezeption interessiert das nicht auch nach Nachfrage. Parkplatz extragebühren 20-/Tag. Wollten unser Aufenthalt um 1 Tag verschieben (in Nebensaison, hotel fast leer), dann hat es geheissen, sie haben keine Verfügbarkeiten. Nicht motiviert, um etwas für die Gäste zu tun."

"I really wanted to love this place. It has so much potential, and the interior design is great. However, sadly, my 2 nights there weren't as expected. 1. The pool was full ot bugs and flies and, overall, less clean than you would like it to be. 2. The bigger issue is that our shower broke the moment we used it, and then the water was dripping (not a little) throughout our stay... 3. The wifi is totally choppy, so if you want to work, you need to tether. 4. Lastly, the moment people arrived at the room next door, it felt as if we were in a dormitory ...you could hear everything they did or said. As luck has it, they werre also a group of inconsiderate guests and were up and about way after it's polite in a hotel setting. For the price, sadly, the quality wasn't there. "
