This hotel was amazing! Our room and bathroom were much larger than expected, the sitting area had a beautiful view out the windows, and the private garden sitting area was beautiful. The room service and turn down service were wonderful and the restaurant was delicious!

So much untapped potential
Love the area this hotel is located in. Pool is beautiful. Rooms are very spacious and shower is good. Views from hotel are beautiful. This hotel has a lot of potential, but I can see why it's not perfectly rated. Service is mediocre at best. When we checked in we got almost no information (about the area, wifi, location or time of restaurant, location or time or pool, spa, etc). I felt like I was dragging out answers from the person who helped me. They also ONLY recommend their restaurant when there is a Michelin starred restaurant in town and several lovely options steps away from their hotel. Even when I wanted to buy a large water they said I should go to their bar instead of going to the mart down the street. There are no fridges as food offsite is not permitted. I also found several ants in my bedroom although this is likely just Tuscany not to do with the hotel. There are small things this hotel could do to make it 10/10 and more luxurious for guests. Include more information for guests who speak all languages in the information. Improve customer service. Add robes or slippers for guests (you do have a spa anyways). Consider small gifts or small things that can make your guests feel special and that your hotel and spa are worth coming back to. You've got all the right big pieces to make this a perfect stay for anyone.

This hotel looked great in the pictures, and was better in person. Spacious and clean room and hotel. Pretty much felt like we had the place to ourselves, which we didn’t. We stayed 5 nights...Food was amazing ( we only had the breakfast). The staff was outstanding . Kind, courteous... so helpful , placing many calls for us for dinner reservations, rental bike arrangements, post office etc... . They were prompt, and happy to do whatever they could. We highly recommend.

i was happy to stay in a very calm village with a high standard hotel as they told us. Room is huge with a magnificent view and the old furniture they used is a great combination with the view. we had insects everywhere which i thought is normal until i got an insect bite with infection. They did not mention room was paid with no breakfast and shocked us with big amount we have to pay on the check out. Pool was so dirty and we had to get some stuff for breakfast after we found nothing on table!! stuff is limited and hiring one to do different kinds of jobs. That was the worst experience throughout my whole visit..

Dear Mr. G., thank you for have been our Guest. You have booked by Hotel.com where is very clar if you book with breakfast or not. Some days before your arrival we had informed you that your rate was "only room" with all informations of extra costs for take breakfast. You had preferred "only room" rate. At the check in again we informed you of extra costs for breakfast and never you was obliged to take it. It's very strange for us your complain after. We are in a wonderful countryside and fortunately there are insects in the countryside, we do not use chemicals in respect of nature, we are pained if you have been hit. Swimming pool is cleaned several time during the day. Best regards

Wonderful staff, beautiful property. Only caution is that most of the Standard rooms are located on the noisy street with early morning vehicle traffic.

Absolutely charming hotel
The Hotel Relais Vignale is an absolutely charming hotel in the most charming little village in Italy. The room had beautiful tiled floors with rustic beamed ceilings. The hotel staff were attentive and friendly.

Perfectly situated hotel
Radda is a small village with several restaurants, including one at the hotel. It is a little pricey however. Staff were fabulous and so helpful. The pool was excellent.

Quiet hotel in a beautiful town. Really nice rooms, lovely breakfast and a great swimming pool. The staff were all really friendly and helpful and Radda was a great base to explore the Chianti region.

This is a charming hotel in an absolutely beautiful hill town. I've been here many times but first time in this hotel. Among the many many hill towns of Tuscany this rates at the top. We stayed in an annex across from the main building. I would have much preferred to have stayed in the main buildings. That would have improved the experience.

Nice hotel but service issues
The hotel is very nice with great views and common areas. I was disappointed in a few things and for the amount we paid I expected better service. Breakfast was not up to par. The selections were poor, coffee was difficult to get and it seemed there are some issues with the servers and attitude. On one of the mornings it seemed if there was a dispute of some kind. Just poorly organized and again for the price paid not acceptable. I was well taken care of by the bartender in the evenings and he was very attentive so compliments to him - forgot his name. Our room was small and did not even have a desk to do some computer work - I guess I shouldn't be doing this in the hear too Chianti but I do need to check mails. The water pressure for the shower was almost non-existent - it took a long time to shower as there was so little water!

Good location but overpriced
First the pros. This hotel is perfectly located just outside of Radda in the Chianti region. The town of Radda has many restaurants, gelato shops and a grocery store. The room rate includes free breakfast (it's good, but not great), and free parking. There are terrific views from the rooms if you are lucky enough to get a room facing either side of the valley. The restaurant is very good and has great views. Now the cons. For our stay, the euro 300+ per night room rate was simply overpriced. All the other hotels in the area were half to one-third the rate. For that kind of rate, our expectations were much, much higher. We tried to negotiate our rate and even tried to check out early, but the hotel was not flexible and said we would still have to pay in full if we left. The rooms were small and modest at best. I would rate the rooms themselves as 2-star. Certainly nothing to boast about. Our room experienced lots of road noise (the hotel is split in the middle by the main road in to town). The free wifi kept cutting in and out during our entire stay. Value simply not worth the price. In our opinion, only pay 100-150 euros maximum for this hotel.

Beautiful property
Relais Vignale is a beautiful property set in Radda in Chianti. The grounds are charming and there is a beautiful view of vineyards from the on-site restaurant. Our room also had a wonderful Tuscan feel. The one odd thing about it is that we had to walk down several steps to get to the bathroom. We were grateful that the staff carried our luggage to our room from the parking lot as there is no lift. Also loved the fact that there is a parking lot and that parking is included in the price.

Third time staying at Relais Vignale
We like this hotel mainly for its warm, homey atmosphere and good central location in Tuscany. The breakfasts are great, the staff is helpful and the rooms are very comfortable, but not luxurious. It feels like staying in someone's large home. Radda is a lovely town and not too crowded.

Honeymoon
We stayed here for our honeymoon and had a very positive experience. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Radda which in itself is a very picturesque town with beautiful views. Hotel is close to lots of restaurants and main amenities. It's got beautiful views but not pretentious. Would stay here again for sure.

Outstanding hotel! You cannot beat the location, views, services and staff friendliness. The room we stayed in was a bit on the rustic side, which is perfect for Tuscany. It makes the whole experience more appealing. We were in the annex on the other side of the street of the hotel, and no complaints there; it is a very short walk to the hotel (you simply cross the street). The room was large, we had a small sitting room, then the bathroom and then the bedroom. The bathroom is of good size. The beds are OK, not the most comfortable, but the room was quiet and we slept just fine. The air conditioning works well. Radda in Chianti is a charming medieval village. We stayed here 3 nights. The hotel's breakfast is wonderful, and you sit outside under their large patio with views over the vineyards. The pool is great! And if they are many guests, they will send out someone to take a drink order. The hotel decor reminds you of a well appointed country home and it is super cozy. We enjoyed our stay and have no complaints. The hotel is a close drive to Castelvecchi, which I say is a must to visit! Just a 10 minute drive; the cellars at Castelvecchi are beautiful! There is also another very charming town called Volpaia (restaurant La Bottega) where we had the best raviolis of our lives. You can do both towns as they are quite close. While in Radda visit the La Botte di Bacco restaurant, the food is gourmet style and the owners do a great job.

A wonderful hotel
My wife and I have always loved this hotel and have stayed there many times. The hotel staff are wonderful and seem positively proud to work in such a beautiful hotel. They create an exceptionally friendly atmosphere and it is interesting how often one finds oneself in pleasant conversation in one of the lovely public areas of the hotel with someone one has never met before. And I can think of few greater pleasures than sitting out in the sun on the hotel balcony in the spring when the wisteria is out looking out over the Tuscan hills. Even better with a glass of wine.
