The stay was great but there are some details that I would like to mention, the first one, I does not have facilities handicap friendly, I mean if you have a wheelchair there are no ramps. The other detail is that at least in room 4 the odor of the restroom is awful, because of the sewer system

1. Staff not very friendly. 2. There's no control whatsoever in entering or leaving the hotel. 3. You have to get off your car in order to let them know you have arrived and then they (manually) open the gate. 4. Swimming pool not very clean. 5. There were water leaks from the roof. 6. No A/C in the room. 7. Restaurant very expensive, for just "OK" food. 8. I'm 6'2, I was hitting my head very often with underachieved remodeling. Wouldn't stay there again. Better save some money and get what you pay than pay extra and get rubbish in return.

too expensive for ok service, at night there is live music at the Terrace to loud to sleep, family suite does not have air-conditioning, I stayed in five different hotels on my 13 day trip this one was the most expensive hotel and one of my least favorite hotel

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. Views are wonderful. My only issue Is the service in the restaurant and the quality of the food. It just doesn’t match the hotel. I would stay at this hotel again, but I would not eat there.

Barking dogs ruined my stay.
Beautiful hotel and excellent staff. The location is fantastic. The problem is that there were 2 dogs in and outside of the building next to the hotel which barked incessantly at 10pm, 12am, 3am, and 6am. I hardly slept. For that reason I won’t stay there again.

Realmente la ubicación es muy buena ya que queda a una cuadra del centro. Pero creo la calidad de sus servicios aún puede mejorar empezando desde el registro. No hay teléfono para solicitar algo dentro de la habitación o simplemente resolver una duda. Por lo tanto no hay room service. Y sí quieres tomar algo te cobran el descorche de todo, eso fue nuevo. Las instalaciones limpias y bonitas.

Muy buen hotel. Una gran area de oportunidad es aislar los ruidos de lavandería y regaderas (tubería q suena por la presión) de las habitaciones del garage. No va con el costo y la calidad del hotel

Fantastic renovated old house located less than half a block from main square, excellent parking space, staff very accommodating. Even do the hours of the restaurant are limited, food was great. I will definitely stay here again. Consider that my comments are based on my stay on a NON busy day for Peña de Bernal (Wed-Thu). I will definitely go there again.

Overall peaceful stay with good service
Great stay! the pool could use some work, less chlorine, and heat but room was nice with a great view and great location. Had problems going the reservation system to work with multiple cancelations not sur if it was a hotels.com issue. Also never got WiFi in the room. But very quiet and relaxing

Good but not great
The stay was good. The personnel is a little shy and doesn't have a lot of clue about questions regarding what to do. The wifi connection is really bad, which is crucial because in the rooms you don't get cellphone signal. That substracts some points from the overall stay. The pool was very cold. In the picture a tub is shown, but in the room the was only a shower.

Bernal is magical & this hotel is top notch!
We decided to explore Bernal in route to San Miguel and could not be more impressed! We want to come back! Cute little town- very clean, great street food, wonderful people and shops. This hotel rivaled some we paid double for in San Miguel. Well worth it! Incredible view! Large rooms, clean grounds and pool, helpful staff and nice looking restaurant (we did not stay long enough to dine in).

Beautiful hotel, perfectly located!
This was our first visit to Tequiquiapan, and we chose the Casa Mateo Hotel due to its location, mostly. Even though we were not in one of the premium rooms, we were absolutely delighted by the overall condition and service at the Hotel. The building itself is beautiful, with an spectacular view of the Peña rock from the terrace. The hotel is right in the middle of all the action. Rooms are comfortable and well kept. The only inconvenience was that there was no 4G reception in the room, which was in the lower level. Other than that, this was a perfect stay!

Beauitul boutique hotel, centrak with great view
Staff was nice, rooms were clean and bed was comfortable. It was chilly and the floors were ice cold, could use some rugs and maybe another blanket. View from the rooftop was stunning and breakfast at the restaurant was good. Coffee is really weak and nespresso machine did not do the trick either.

Hotels.com Stranded Me - Casa Mateo to the Rescue
Due to an error by Hotels.com I was unable to stay. The hotel was very nice to find me another hotel in town with a room for both nights of my reservation as the Casa Mateo only had availability one night due to the hotels.com error that almost left me stranded in rural central Mexico without a place to stay. They speak very little English but were happy to communicate through the online translator. The property was beautiful and I would have like to stay if Hotels.com had not dropped the ball. I would stay at Casa Mateo if the opportunity arose again but would confirm reservation a few times but probably not reserve through Hotels.com.

Does not speak English - beware!!
This hotel was absolutely beautiful - in terms of architecture, room design and ambience. The woman who runs it however totally destroyed our experience and my iPhone - left on the breakfast table (we were the only ones served at 8:30am) was not returned when we called back for it half an hour later - a complete nightmare. We paid for a King bed/ Classic suite but were put in a double bed (we are both over 190cms tall!) and we had GREAT difficulty getting any assistance from the manager to rectify this. She destroyed our last night in Mexico and we left hurriedly - hence the phone being left behind. Saying this, the room service and delivery was excellent and the other staff that helped turn on heater etc were very pleasant and helpful - paradise between the arguments we had to endure - a most confusing and disappointing harassment experience!

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado y es bonito pero había muchos ruidos en la noche y no pudimos dormir porque también hubo mosquitos en la habitación. Por la mañana encontramos un alacrán en la habitación y nos ayudaron a resolverlo pero esos problemas hicieron que no tuviéramos una buena experiencia.

En la noche llegamos y queríamos que nos enviaran agua al cuarto eran las 9:00 pm Y nunca nos contestaron y en la mañana necesitaba salir a las 6:00 am del hotel y recepción cerrada ni había nadie que te atendiera o abriera el portón está bonito pero pésima atención
