"I want to start by saying that this review has nothing to do with the staff, every single person we encountered was amazing, kind, and attentive. A special thank you to the team at the Katok restaurant in the Akumal resort, especially Oliva, Obdulia, Francisca, the chef who came out to greet us, and the captain waiter. Their service truly stood out and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply affected by the food. During my stay, I got food poisoning twice, and the last time was extremely severe. I experienced fever, vomiting, chills, and diarrhea. I am still recovering from it. It was honestly very difficult to travel back home in that condition. I had a fever while flying and could not keep any food down due to how upset my stomach was. This was very disappointing, especially because everything else, particularly the staff, was so wonderful. I hope the resort takes this feedback seriously and reviews their food safety standards so that future guests do not go through the same experience. "

"“5-Star Fraud” – Ocean Riviera Paradise ⭐ 1/5 – 5-STAR FRAUD This hotel is a complete scam. It’s advertised as a 5-star resort, but the reality is far from it. Severely understaffed, slow and disorganized service, and poor customer attention. The food is very low quality, with limited options and endless lines for everything, even the buffet. Several times we couldn’t even get into the restaurants. The beach is full of rocks and seaweed, not what you expect in Cancun. You pay for luxury and get chaos instead. Do not recommend at all. La comida es de pésima calidad, con muy pocas opciones y colas interminables para todo, incluso para el buffet. En varias ocasiones ni siquiera pudimos entrar a los restaurantes. La playa está llena de rocas y algas, nada que ver con lo que uno espera en Cancún. Pagas por lujo y recibes una experiencia caótica. No lo recomiendo para nada. Hay opciones mucho mejores por el mismo precio. "

"Everything was wonderful, but the elevators kept breaking down. I’ve been there three times and never experienced any breakdowns before. Also, my air conditioner was VERY loud! Maintenance came to fix it, but that only worked temporarily. I’ll still go back there, but I hope everything is fixed."

"The hotel and staff were amazing our entire experience was great except for our tub on our sky terrace did not work, we had called twice throughout our stay, and it wasn’t fix ;( when we voiced our concerns we were told there was no record of the calls;( Everything else was great all the restaurant and bar staff were amazing! They are friendly and work so hard, and pay attention it every detail. Top notch service! Anything you asked for they delivered . "

"Our was clean and updated. We have an amount of preferred time which was bigger and more private than those on the ocean side. The property was beautiful. Not very accessible for those in a wheelchair or a scooter. The staff were great. We did have different experiences with staff at different restaurants. "
