Air conditioning in my room did not work at all. It was the hottest day in Geneva and I filtered my Expedia search specifically for rooms with air conditioning. I tried calling the front desk to see if I could move but could not get through and since I was only staying for one night, didn’t bother pushing further.

We absolutely loved our stay in Switzerland. Though from the US standards this wouldn't be rated a 4 star hotel, as far as value, friendliness, charm and location it gets a 4 star from me!

Dear guest, you booked a non refundable stay at our hotel knowing in advance what it means, you can't cancel such a rate, so sorry about that but you did not stay with us and you did not accept either the rules about this booking. My husband and I enjoyed ordering food from the restaurant at the hotel and eating on the terrace outside of our room. The chocolate lava cake was especially delicious. The property is a bit dated and the air conditioning was not very effective at keeping the room cool, but our stay was otherwise comfortable. We appreciated that robes were provided in the room.

Excellent hotel.
Excellent three day stay in a beautiful setting, hotel located by Lake Geneva. Very good room, spacey and super comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast, overall staff most helpful with a smile.

Fantastic location for a relaxing stay.
Fantastic quiet location on the lake and short drive to Nyon. Had a ground floor room with private terrace plenty of space to relax. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. WiFi available but they seemed surprised when we asked for the code just assume everyone uses roaming data! If you arrive early don't expect to get in to your room. It was made clear room is available from 3pm. Reception seems to be staffed randomly had to wait to pick up room key & on checkout. Restaurant terrace overlooking the lake for breakfast was a great way to start the day. Buffet with good range although little slow topping up empty items although we were in no rush. Staff were cheerful, friendly and overall efficient. Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva
Very peaceful and relaxing and lovely terrace restaurant and a good menu. Breakfast choices excellent with extensive buffet. highly recommended.

Barcarolle stay
Nice hotel right on Lake Geneva. Great views in Summer. I've stayed her many times. The beds are a bit hard but You can ask for an extra duvet and sleep on that. The rooms are clean and pretty and the food is usually quite good, if a little pricey - but everywhere around here is pricey anyway. Wifi is good.

Unfortunately a poor experience
Cold room - very cold with heating not working. When raised the issue - I returned next day to a somewhat warmer room but with very noisy air conditioning. I then could'nt sleep due to noise, so had to turn off the fan - so ended up with a cold room again. Staff pleasant but issue not resolved. Asked for manager to call me as I wanted reassurance and to come again if they could attend to such issues. So far not received a call - despite being told matter would be taken up. Very disappointed so only left with having to give a poor review and not to book there again.

Lovely Lakeside Hotel
Very nice hotel in lovely location overlooking Lake Geneva. Comfortable rooms. Unfortunately due to a birthday and a wedding, we could not dine in the restaurant, but they set us up on the terrace whilst a bit on the cool side, was pleasant. wold recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a lakeside hotel, only about 30 mins from Geneva centre.

A proper hotel for CHF260 in this area deserves some praise! La Barcarolle delivers a true 4-star experience: good upmarket bathroom amenities, monogrammed towels, shaving mirror, minibar, same-day laundry, and room air conditioning. Everything in the room was comfortable and well-presented, and each room has a pleasant balcony to enjoy the view down the lawns and garden to the lake. The staff go the extra mile to be helpful and are very enthusiastic The whole place is well maintained. The Beach Bar is a very nice idea for summer use. The location is perhaps a kilometer from Nyon, and a 20-30 minute drive to Geneva. It's a very peaceful and relaxing spot.

Good Hotel
Enjoyed our stay for 4 days in Dec 2014. Easy access to lake and motorways. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are quite spacious with a small balcony. Got free extra bed for kid. We had both a delicious dinner and a free breakfast. I highly recommend hotel. Only thing is missing is, there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Very nice hotel right by the Lake
We stayed at this hotel for 1 night in December 2014 and could not fault it. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was a good size and on the ground floor as we had requested. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. For breakfast there was an excellent variety of different items, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, fried breakfast, bread, crossants etc etc. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.

Hôtel agréable. Dommage que l'antimoustiquaire empecjaiy d'ouvrir pleinement la fenêtre. Du vis à vis sur le jardinet. On est tombés sur un week-end avec un mariage donc pas d'accès au lac et restaurant complet le midi.
