Worst, rudest and most disrespectful recepcionist

If you're reading this comment, make yourself a favor and don't stay here. As you'll be able to see in many other comments, the recepcionist here is incredibly rude and unpleasant. The information on the website is wrong, they say they speak English, French and Portuguese, and they only speak Portuguese. Right off the bat, he charged me 60 EUR more than he was supposed to, even though I was showing him the booking on my phone, calmly. He started speaking very loudly and showing right in my face a piece of paper with the amount that he wanted me to pay, saying some things about taxes and more. I kept trying to explain that I had already paid for all additional taxes. He said started saying things about Spain and Spanish people that sounded a little racist, in Portuguese, and I couldn't understand most of it. Since I was tired and it looked like the situation was escalating, I decided to pay and go to the room and rest, and then later call Hotels.com to ask about information on what happened. Then, the next day, when I arrived, he started SHOUTING at me and demanding why I had called Hotels.com! He threatened me and was incredibly aggressive and disrespectful. I tried to defuse the situation the best way I could, basically telling him that he was right in everything he was saying (which seemed to be the most important thing for him, being right). I sincerely hope this comment will prevent someone in the future from having to go through the same thing.

Pouco recomendável

Uma das peores experiências, o colchão tinha até buracos de tão velho, não tinha protetor e os lençóis estavam tão gastados que estavam quaze transparentes. O quarto deu a sensação de que era um armário com camas, a janela estava fechada pois dava para o quarto de arrumação! O sistema do hotel é com campainha, até alta madrugada não parou de tocar, com o ruído acompanhar da gente que entrava. Realmente não recomendo.

Alojamiento aceptable con un "pero".

En general todo bien, era tal como describía el anuncio, con lo necesario para pasar unas noches y algo lejos del río para ir andando. Hay un metro a unos 7-8 minutos con el que llegas a Sao Bento. A destacar el personal, muy amables y atentos, predispuestos a ayudar en lo que podían. El único "pero" de la habitación, es que el colchón era muy incómodo y ruidoso, y nos despertábamos cada dos por tres.

El recibimiento fue por parte de recepción a discusión y grito, diciéndonos que no entendíamos nada y por qué dejábamos el coche en otro sitio que Google nos indicó. A la noche escuchamos mismo discurso con otro cliente. Encontramos telarañas y arañas en esquina habitación al lado de la cama. Muy descuidado el hostal. Persianas rotas y todo en general descuidado. Sólo fuimos a dormir. Cama cómoda y aire acondicionado.

Appalling Receptionist/Owner will Never be back

As soon as me and my boyfriend walked through the door we were shouted at Because apparently he wanted us to ring the bell before walking in and was saying that is rude to walk through people's houses without knocking first, even though that's a "hotel", not a house. Kept on shouting and raising his voice at me and my boyfriend. Then I tried to re-start the situation and asked what was the check-in time as on hotels.com is says 1AM what he started shouting at me again saying if it says 1AM it's because I changed it and that I'm stupid because nowhere in the world you can do a check-in at 1AM. I tried to explain that's a website and couldn't change those kind of settings myself and he just kept on shouting at me and insulting me (in portuguese as he refuses to say a word in any other language) After shouting and constantly insulting me and my boyfriend for 10 minutes we decided we didn't want to stay in that place as like this wasn't enough, the place was dirty and smelled bad. Then I wasn't shout at again when I asked for my money back as we wanted to leave, he insulted me again saying all the payments are made at reception (you have to add your card details when booking) and last but not the least, when I was mentioning that I had to add my card details at hotels.com he had the balls to say he doesn't work with hotels.com even though I booked the room through hotels.com app This was a horrible experience and quite traumatic. We were shouted at, insulted and disrespected.

Plenty of stairs to climb

An unusual experience. Very clean but modestly furnished, one very uncomfortable chair not even a paper cup for brushing teeth. On the other hand there was a bidet in the bathroom and plenty of hot water. No elevator. Last night i was there i was awoken by shouting at 4.30 in the morning, later the man in charge told me he had been up in the middle of the night when someone was taken ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. So it is a really quiet neighborhood. No little store right nearby to buy water and snacks. But a gracious older building.

- one of the staff in the reception was so rude when I asked for the internet which is not working - room full of humidity - heater barely warms the room - no soap/ shampoo - the receptionists, both of them, are not wearing masks according to the local restrictions and they dont speak english -if you're a bit tall, sitting on the toilet is challenge since there is no space between the toilet and "water tap" (Also, toilet is super old and dirty - Only cold water is available

Localizado muito próximo do centro. Conforto OK. Preço muito acessível, com casa de banho privada. Estacionamento na própria residencial (mas muito inclinado o acesso). Excelente para rápida estadia no Porto.

Péssima...é para esquecer o local!!

Nem sequer sabonete tinham...gel e é uma sorte, segundo o recepcionista!!! Tive que sair dali para outro local, pois nem mais uma noite ficava nessas condições do sítio onde me colocaram.

Boa localização

Tem uma boa localização, não muito longe do centro, próximo ao Bolhão. O cuidado com a limpeza é muito bom. Infelizmente, o sinal de internet wifi pegava muito mal no meu quarto.
