This is such a beautiful hotel. I enjoyed our stay more than any other hotel I’ve ever been to. Our room was well appointed, comfortable bed, large bathroom, a fantastic view and so quiet. No hall noise, etc. We ate in the hotel restaurant and it was very good. We spent time in a sitting room with a fireplace and enjoyed meeting and conversing with other travelers. We even watched a couple’s wedding from a window in the dining room! The morning continental breakfast was included and was quite tasty. I would love to stay there again.

Breakfast was wonderful. Great selection, just needed paper coffee cup tops that fit better. We met with friends for drinks and dinner that evening and the staff excelled, especially the bar tender. We were in the Carriage House. The bathroom was wonderful, except for the slow moving sink drain. The drain in the sink in the main room was also very sluggish. The furnishings were dated. The lamp shades were crooked. Not a great look. Also, there were two stains on the bed's mattress, beneath the mattress pad at the head-sides which looked like dried blood.

The property was beautifully maintained and sat on the main street of Freeport. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a beautiful sitting room that felt both respectful to the age of the property while being updated and modern. The tavern and restaurant on property were great as well. It was close walking distance to both restaurants and shopping. It was busy yet didn’t feel overwhelming. Nice place to stay.

Wow, what an amazing hotel. Check in was smooth, courteous and welcoming. The room was fabulous and the beds - well, I’ve never slept in such a comfortable bed at a hotel! The only thing was the pool said it was heated but at 7pm when I went for a quick dip the water was lukewarm at best. Such a wonderful place in such a wonderful town. We have cancelled our original hotel on our last night in Maine and rebooked the Harraseeket, we are so impressed! Thank you

Nice place. You can see marks of the age of the place, but it is well maintained. Very comfortable accommodations. Great dinner menu, and Billy the waiter was great. Standard continental breakfast. Loved the drawing room and afternoon tea. Plenty of parking and great location. Fiddly hot / cold water controls on the shower. We both tripped on one rug where the corner curled up in our room.

the harraseeket is a classic old coastal inn and it’s been maintained beautifully. the rooms were very tidy and graciously appointed. the staff was super friendly and helpful. the restaurant on site is quite good. prices are comparable to chains in the area, so it seemed like a no-brainer to stay at the historic option. overall, we loved our stay and would certainly stay again.

An exceptional property. Located right on Main Street, just steps away from shops and restaurants, it offers warm, impeccably clean, and remarkably quiet rooms. The staff is always helpful—ready to assist with anything you might need or simply to share a friendly chat. The atmosphere is refined, elegant, and inviting, with that classic New England charm that makes the stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast is generous, and the on‑site restaurant serves excellent dishes for both lunch and dinner. Parking is easy, convenient, and feels very safe. For kids, after a day of exploring, a dip in the beautiful indoor pool is the perfect way to unwind. A place that truly combines comfort, care, and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Nice pool, kids liked it. Great breakfast. Good location. However, the parking for the townhome was so far away and downhill, paths not well lit. Do not stay there if you have a cane or are in need of walking assistance. All the bedrooms are up steep staircase. Only one bathroom to sleep 8?? Bizarre. I asked the front desk for laundry detergent for washer and dryer in unit and they told me to go to CVS.
