"On arrival at the hotel, there was a long lineup at the front desk for check-in. After getting our room keys, we walked in the room and it was full of bugs and there was blood on the bathroom door. We called the front desk, and they sent a bellhop right away with keys to another room on a higher floor which was much better and the balcony was screened so bugs couldn't get in.
Of the two elevators in the wing, only one was working, so getting to and from our room wasn't easy. The stairs didn't connect to the ground floor so we often had to wait for the elevator.
In the past we got a placard to put in our car window, this time we didn't, but used our park pass to get in the gate. We had to go in and out several times, it was no issue and the main street with all the stores is 10 minutes drive away. And the birds are smart enough not to get killed (inside joke for my boys).
Most staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants like Perkins were understaffed - 3/4 of the restaurant was empty but there was still a half hour wait to be seated, and service was very slow. Long lines for coffee at Starbucks. Mama Chetta's pizza delivered to the room was great when tired from walking around the park all day, a much faster option.
Overall, it's not a luxury but they do their best. The main attraction we're going for is the park, it's convenient to get in and out, the West wing is great because it's so close to the entrance. Will stay again if we go to Cedar Point."
