"This is a jewel of a property. Location, building, staff and the owners pride in what she calls her home is so apparent. Treat yourself and eat in the restaurant. The staff will help with translations so don't be daunted. I just wish we had booked another night."

"We enjoyed our stay & it was very unfortunate that it rained all the time! The hotel is in a wonderful position, the staff friendly & helpful & dinner excellent. The door onto our little balcony was the only ventilation & as it was raining we couldn’t open the door & therefore the room did feel rather stuffy especially at night."

"A completely peaceful and relaxing hotel set in beautiful, spacious grounds with sea views and direct access to a quiet little beach. The sun loungers on the lawn terrace overlooking the sea is a great spot for a sunny afternoon. Our room and en suite bathroom was clean and stylish and with a very big and super comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful in every way. There's a very nice bar with a log fire and a good selection of whiskies! We only ate dinner once in the hotel. It was expensive,as you would expect in a hotel of this standard but the food, wine and service were absolutely excellent. we ate here for my 60th birthday and I was not disappointed- a great thing to do for a special occasion. There are other decent bars and restaurants only a couple of minutes walk away where we ate well on other nights. The wider area is beautiful, with coastal walks and quiet unspoilt beaches. The spa facilities are clean and well looked after, although the sauna is small with room only for two people at a time. This is my only criticism as it might be a problem at busy times. Overall, we loved our stay at Le Grand Hotel des Bains and would definitely return. "
