With new restrictions and safety precautions in effect, travel looks a little different nowadays. Here are some useful things to know before you jet off to Pleasure Island:

• Before you book a flight, see if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government travel advisories.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, place your pass on the reader and then hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on baggage. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to take it out of your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Place any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and coins) in your carry-on rather than a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA officer will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
