Playa Mismaloya

We have stayed here 7 times now and it remains to be the best hotel in Mexico. Stay number 8 will be booked soon. We love this place.

Well let’s start by saying this location is absolutely stunning. Pros: - Rooms are huge - Beautiful views, ocean and mountain. - Resort is generally clean - Free drinks - Service 50/50 Cons: - Food, Food, Food,Food, Food -Buffet was the worst all inclusive I’ve been to in 25 years. - Steak house is outside, extremely hot. Ribeye was terrible. - Staff in Italian could not understand English, made us wait in the hall for 15 minutes for 2 other guests and the place was empty. The food was good for those that got what they ordered. -Waterfalls stopped in the pools after day one, no water movement (gross) -No where to get a snack but to lay in the little store. - You can’t take food out of the restaurants. - No speakers allowed at the “Adults” pool. You listen to someone talk into a microphone for the bulk of the day. -Mold on the curtains, lamp shades, and bathroom grout was full of it. Oh but the gave us a bottle of wine when we complained. Lol I would not recommend going here especially if you have kids, they will starve, can’t even get French fries. The place has so much potential. Barcelo should be ashamed to put their name on it. I’ve stayed a 3 Barcelo’s and even got married at one. Will never book another Barcelo after staying here. Sad to say. They would not budge on an upgrade even though half the place was empty.
