"Beautiful rainforest property with good birding opportunity, birds song, cicadas, and frogs, but "touristy", so the natural vibe gets ruined. It seems they cater to tour groups, so not very private or queit. Have to pay for 3 meals a day but on their schedule that's too late for serious birding and not as healthy as I'd prefer. I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late...

"Excellent!
The owners are nice and gentle. Wake up with the sound of birds and look toucans, hummimbirds and a listen a cockcrow far away...

I travel solo and do not enjoy sitting by myself or wasting time I could be out finding birds sitting in a restaurant. I go ut birding before daybreak so, lunch as late as 13:00 and O MG on the dinner at 19:00 hours! That's almost bedtime for a serious birder, so unhealthy. I also disliked the large group tours and no options for private guide at such a perfect, well known place to find endemic and special birds place. No fridge in room to keep my own food cold. NO WIFI in room!! Make sure you see that. I couldn't message home without walking down to the restaurant (again back out with all the people - exactly the opposite of the serene rainforest experience I'd hoped for.) Sorry to report negativity. It IS a beautiful place if being with a group instead of the self-in-nature is your thing. The road is also in bad condition - narrow with many potholes."
"This hotel is located in a beautiful town in the mountains with an elevation of about 3500. The place is operated by a very nice couple. I stayed here with my wife and one of our sons. We really enjoyed the stay. There is a BBQ restaurant just across the street from the hotel. We had dinner there and loved it as well. "
