You do need to check into the actual hotel (which this is not, this is the villas), which is like 5-10 mins away by car, and I'll say this now that the hotel does have a restaurant. "We had a great stay here - house was beautiful and well equipped and the remoteness and private pool were great for a relaxing stay in Crete. While you are about 20 mins outside of Chania it served as a good base for all of the western beaches and attractions while still close enough to Chania for dinners and exploring.
