"Beautiful property and most of the staff are very nice with just one notable exception. The bar man is moody and borderline rude the way he treats his customers unless they happen to be American in which case he's quite chatty for some reason. The rooms are fairly basic with wardrobe space but no drawers. There are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms so if you need a drink you have to pay €5 for a cup of tea if the bar is open,otherwise do without. The rooms have a nice little balcony and the hotel garden and pool is lovely but there were many mosquitos. Unfortunately our bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable"

"This is a lovely hotel around a mile from Stresa town centre overlooking lake Maggiore. Staff are friendly, rooms are spacious and clean with air conditioning. Breakfast is excellent. The walk to the town is beautiful with views all the way of lake Maggiore."

"Location is ideal, only 10 min walk to train station and bit less to lake. All staff were great. It is a Viking tour hotel so you do get a lot of people staying but the hotel facilities can handle it. Breakfast was a wide range the only criticism is that the hot food isn’t hot. Cold scrambled eggs, bacon. The room we had Mountain View was big enough for a week no issues. Lake maggorie is vast and traveling everywhere on the ferry can get expensive. Worth the money is the Maggiore express on the weekends that take you to Locarno in Switzerland and scenic train back. All in all a lovely 7 days."

"This hotel could not be beat for the views. Spending nights sleeping at 3,100 m was absolutely amazing. Make no mistake: there is a hard night sleeping that first night if you've come from sea level and done no acclimatization. The half board dinner was one salad, one soup, one main course, and one dessert. The food definitely was not for me, but I'm not the normal, adventurous eater. Staff was helpful in offering to cook things differently or to add extra of something that you did like if there was something that you didn't like. I am a very picky, and they were helpful in asking me if they could do anything to assist or make it better for me. Breakfast was a buffet Eggs, bacon, croissants, lemon cake, and fresh juices. My only complaint is that after 7:30, when the Sky Lounge closes, there's nowhere to get anything else to eat. There are no vending machines, there's no shopping that's open, no snack bar, nothing. You got to bring stuff up from the village if you might not like any of the food that they're presenting that night. The Monta Rossa suite with Matterhorn through the picture windows was the entire reason we stayed there, and it was as amazing as the picture showed. I had the best time with those views, and I'll definitely be back again."

"We loved every single thing about this beautiful hotel. It sits majestically nestled in an elevated position overlooking lake Maggiore with attractive well maintained grounds. The staff were excellent at every stage and incredibly obliging. The food including breakfast was delicious. Every Thurs night is a wonderful barbecue out on the terrace with the backdrop of the gorgeous lake which was a particular highlight. There is decadence, luxury and Italian style throughout the hotel with many gorgeous rooms to enjoy on the main hotel floor. The immaculate bedroom and sumptuous bathroom we had was on the 3rd floor overlooking the lake from a wonderful balcony, a breathtaking view that is imprinted in our minds. For us a very special hotel in a beautiful location with professional exemplary friendly staff. The owner chats to guests every morning at breakfast which is a lovely personal touch. A welcome drink greets you on your arrival at the hotel and a minibar with largely soft drinks and beer is complementary and restocked every day. We also had a complementary bottle of wine in our room and every night with the turn down service some delicious petit fours appeared as an additional treat. The hotel can arrange a private boat from their own jetty to take you to the 3 Borromean islands which though an expensive luxury provides a tailored service that was extra special. A very warm thank you to All the staff who made our stay absolutely amazing. We would return in a heartbeat."
