"The hotel sits on a big island in a small river, with the main river running on the one and a small creek on the other side. The bungalows with the rooms are scattered along the creek and the facilties such as reception, restaurant and yoga shala (also to be used as guest lounge, library and massage place) are sprinkled across a big garden with lots of flowers, fish and sea rose ponds.
As the resort does not have any walls (the rooms have), it feels very generous and even bigger as it is. And...

"The villa was so tranquil and clean. It was the best start to my trip. The hotel has limited rooms so it creates an intimacy and level of privacy I haven’t experienced elsewhere. The pool is beautiful and was the perfect temperature. The staff are beyond amazing and helpful - they made the say that much better! The restaurant has some amazing dishes to try! "

There are only 6 villas here, but it still has all the amenities of a much bigger resort, like an onsite spa and restaurant, as well as options for excursions. Because of its size, there is a real focus on quality for their guests, delivering the best customer service possible.
Check your booking details as ours came with so many happy surprises that we didn’t know were included - daily breakfast (with one floating breakfast), 15 minute foot massage, afternoon tea with cake and a 2 hour tour of the local rice paddies were all included. We also got a complimentary welcome cocktail each too.
We are vegan, and were so well catered for - vegan options aren’t on their menu online but don’t let this put you off - we were given multiple options for each meal and they were truly delicious.

"Such a special and quiet place in nature. So relaxing and authentic, family run lodging. Rooms were large and spacious with gorgeous views over the rice fields and mountain. "Our stay at Barong was beautiful, from the grounds and gardens to the exquisite room and view. This is the real Bali. Beautiful and tranquil countryside setting among rice fields.
Agung was a wonderful host who made our stay so much more special. He was very knowledgeable about the local area and very enthusiastic and fun to interact with each day.
