On check in at 4pm, the front desk was unattended. Used the phone to call someone to the desk, he arrived about 5 minutes later. They put a hold of $250 on my credit card for "incidentals". Kind of excessive, I thought. He gave me a key for the room and when I went upstairs and opened the room, the bed was not made. Seems that they had neglected to clean the room. I went back down and he was gone again. While waiting for him, 3 more people were behind me in line. He gave me key for a different room. It worked, but the room condition was not good, dust on furniture, rusty chrome on table lamps, missing keys on the TV remote control, soiled and stained bathtub, no stopper on the bathroom sink, bathroom sink pulling away from the walls, no washcloth, only one paper cup for coffee, no plastic cups for drinking use, barely readable display on the temperature control for the heat/ac unit, When I came back to the room on my second day, the bed was not made, the room had not been cleaned and restocked. I have stayed at this property several times each year over the past 6-8 years. It was never bad. It's clear that the management just does not care anymore. I have choices about where to stay. This property is off my list from now on.
