Good size room & outside BBQ area but had two terrible nights sleep the bed & pillows were so uncomfortable.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately it is not possible to have any mattress and pillow that would fit for all. Our mattress is of medium firmness made in SA and we try to provide a mixture of high / low and hard / soft pillows.

This is a very good value for the price. The grill area was excellent and the people running the place were amazing. It may not be the most flash place but it was the best value that we have found in several trips to the area.

Lovely location and surrounds. Exceptionally clean room and comfortable room and all needs catered for. Very good value for money. Would stay again especially if requiring a base in Coonawarra region. Penola is a lovely town.

Coonawarra Getaway
Max greeted us with enthusiasm & knowledge of the area by providing verbal & physical recommendations. The room was clean & nicely warmed for us on a cold Coonawarra/Penola day! The room was large in comparison to the newer hotels and had a lovely garden view through the glass sliding doors.

Lovely Coonawarra stay
It was a very comfortable stay, which were perfect for our one-night stay in the Coonawarra! Great location - walking distance to town and a few wineries, and only a short drive from the other wineries. It was good value for money.

Extremely affordable, comfortable place. A bit outdated, but I'd absolutely stay here again. It'll be my first choice in penola from now on.

Great stay at Coonawarra Motor Lodge - on the road with my job. The room was sparkling clean, quiet (especially since the by-pass has been in), and the shower was the best one I have ever had - really hot and really strong. I will be back.

Nice resting spot in Coonawarra region
We stayed 3 days at the Coonawarra Motor Lodge. The layout is the expected for motels, but it was the little touches that made it special. A heated electric blanket under the sheet to warm the cold nights, cookies and coffee replenished every day. It was spotlessly clean and a nice strong shower. There was a nice patio area for guests with numerous tables. The management was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, friendly staff and clean rooms. My only complaint was the very hard bed but that's just a personal thing. The pressure in the shower was great!! I would definitely come back and stay here again.
