"To be fair, I am not rating this compared to other hotels but based on the price I paid for it. The hotel is relatively new and is in a very good location if you want to be close to the airport and about 10 minutes walking from the Hotel Zone (Zona viva). However, the room is very small, quite basic and it is not noise-isolated. The neighbourhood is safe and there are some parking spots available. For a solo traveller who wants to spend the night just to catch a plane next day is a fair choice for the price. If you want luxury and a more touristy hotel, skip it. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Pillows not comfortable and bed too soft. For young travellers this is also a good choice."

"All the Barcelo team members are very nice, it is a bit expensive when compared to a whole bunch of properties that have sprung up, but the Barcelo Hotel holds a lot of good memories for me, I have been staying there for over 20 years."

"The staff at the reception was very helpful and the room was great. The shuttle service to the airport was also very good. (The only thing that I do not recommend is the restaurant. The view was nice but the food was not good. Frozen appetizer and the main course was also cold)"
