Wow! What a little jewel this place turned out to be. Large, clean, beautiful, low-cost room.
First, this is a very different cost-effective hotel experience. There is no 'front desk', and no staff save for a couple of cleaning folks you may or may not see. You enter the main front door using a code on a keypad, and you don't have a room key - you get a numeric combination for the combo lock on your door. So you have to be sure to read the messages the hotel sends you on Expedia to get the codes. You also have to go through an easy online process to pay the city tax because there is no front desk, so here it's online and in advance. Then you get your door codes.
But once inside and upstairs (we stayed in the Zen Paradise room), the room is really, really great! The 2nd largest hotel room we stayed in out of 7 places in Italy, and it includes a sink, fridge, dishes, wine & water glasses, and flatware. The clothes hanging concept was cool because you would not forget anything left hanging in a closet, so unique and helpful.
Parking was in an underground garage (APCOA) just 3 blocks south and was very safe and reasonably priced. We loved the gorgeous Caffe Cavour for lunch. Very good restaurant (Trattoria al Tribunale) two blocks east of Glam Parma was open Sunday nights, and you walk past a nice park with a bronze of Paganini to get there.
Compared to Venice, Treviso, Bologna, Modena, and other places we visited, we loved Parma the best. And Glam Parma helped!
