We enjoyed our stay. There are lots of good restaurants and bars near by. The bed was big and comfortable, and we had no issues with noise at night. The majority of the staff was pleasant, however, there was a woman at the front desk who was extremely rude and unhelpful. It was very offputting. Breakfast was nothing special. You can get much better at a cafe for 10 euro a person. It also wasn't very clear if breakfast was or was not included in the rate.

Staff was helpful and friendly, spa area was awesome, rooms are small but very sufficient, A/C was good- but we needed to ask them to make sure it didn’t shut off in the night on us. We stayed in July so we did get a little warm over night, but it was easily fixed. The parking area is about a 10 minute walk away and very expensive. There are tons of restaurants in walking distance that are delicious, and very close to a metro. We were able to see Paris easily from this location.

nice simple Parisian hotel
Typical Parisian 3-star hotel. Small reception and smallish rooms. But there is everything you need with a good bathroom and shower. The bed was not the best, but comfortable. Loads of well located plug sockets and decent wifi. The one thing that let it down was no water in the room. This is basic stuff for me and a little disappointing.

Other than the free croissant upon check in the service was abysmal. For three days we were met with bad attitudes and slow grumpy answers. Our room was tiny (yes it’s Europe) and the 2 beds put together wouldn’t stay together. Air conditioning didn’t work.

On the plus side, it’s well located- walking distance from Grands Boulevards, gare du nord, many nice dining options in the neighborhood. Bed was comfortable. However, interior is tired, old carpets and smell of old in the corridors and the room (unless windows open), air conditioning doesn’t work, service is not friendly.

Nice little hotel in a great location
We arrived a couple hours prior to check in. The receptionist was welcoming and confirmed she could check us in early, but needed about an hour. Conveniently, there is a nice little cafe/bar right across the street from the hotel lobby. We checked in about an hour early. The room is small or maybe the bed is too big for the room. I did not measure, but there seems to be about 2 to 3 feet of space all around the bed. There are night stands on each side with outlets & light switches. There is a desk at the foot of the bed with an electric kettle & small closets on each side. The TV is mounted above the desk. The bed was very comfortable and to our liking. We had some issues with the WiFi staying connected for the first 2 days, but after that everything worked as expected. Only other issues we had were both related to the air circulation in the room. We followed the directions provided and set the fan and temp to our desired settings, between 18-20 degrees Celsius (64-68F), but our room would get very warm at night and several evenings we woke up in a sweat. There is a vent in the shower, but no fan. The bathroom would steam up quickly and we had to open the window to release the humidity in the room. We noticed small spots of mold around the shower. There is a small bar area & vending machine in the lobby. They offer a buffet style breakfast for €15/person. We did not try as there were so many other options close by, but it's nice to have. We were pleased with our stay.

Be careful with Late Checkout !
When we arrived I was told that our booking had been cancelled. I’ve used Hotels.com several times and it definitely was not cancelled. According to the receptionist I was ‘lucky’ that there was one available room, I suspect that room was the one I booked in the first place, but I could have been left with no where to stay. The room is very very small but had a nice bathroom. Three different cleaners knocked on the door some offering coffee or something, despite having a do not disturb sign on. The day before check out I was told by a receptionist I could get late check out (5pm) we had a very late flight so we stayed in bed until 11am and then I was told that we could not have late check out and that we had to leave as soon as possible. We had no time to get ready and get a shower and they tried to charge us to use a shower in the spa even though it was their mistake that they told us we could have late check out. Receptionist kept talking over me and didn’t deal with the situation very good and it really ruined the experience but it was more the fault of the receptionist who told us we could have late check out.

As our night porter explained, the request for a late check-out would need to be confirmed through our reception team in the morning, as a request wasn't received our team were unaware of the need for the late check-out and as a result our housekeeping team followed their usual schedule. We are sorry that you were disturbed when displaying a do not disturb sign, we have addressed this with our housekeeping team to prevent this happening in the future. Almost perfect
Hotel Breail Opera is a perfect stay not too far away walking from food in the third arondisment which is nice when it was as cold as it was in January! If the metros were running it would have also been perfect to get everywhere in the city as well. Hotel room is a bit small for a family but for two I thought it was perfect since you shouldn’t be in the room much anyway with everything Paris has to offer! Others complain that it is to small but honestly for our offseason price it was perfect. The only single complaint we had was the shower door situation or lack there of one... that needs to be solved. Unless you shower perfectly you will make a puddle outside of the shower as the door is only half a door for some reason. If you can look past this flaw the room is nice size with a good view if you’re on the top floor as we were. As well as the bathroom is decently sized.

Well located and value for money. Very noisey hotel, struggled to sleep the first night as the room above seemed to constantly walking around and floors must be really poor quality sound proofing. Second night seemed better the load occupants above must have left the hotel. Shower had to be held by hand as the holder above head height was missing which was an inconvenience and very annoying.

Nice hotel for a great value
Great hotel for the price and location. My wife and I just spent 7 nights at the HBO and would definitely stay there again. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The facility (including room and public areas) is very clean and has easy access to the Grands Boulevards Metro Station (less than a 5-minute walk) and lots of shopping and great dining options. It is close to most of Paris' tourist spots (we walked to most of them, but the Metro is right there like I said) so the location was perfect for us. We got a room on the 6th floor (7th floor for US standards) and the views every morning were pretty nice! My only complaint would be that the bathroom floor got all wet every time we took a shower (like most hotels these days, the bathroom has this open-door shower concept.) Also, the bathroom door did not fit properly on the door frame, so my wife had a bit of a hard time closing the door (really no big deal)

Great Paris hotel choice
Great value for money hotel, in great location. Metro was close giving great access to the rest of the city. Comfortable room with large super king bed, friendly and helpful staff, would stay again.

The location is great! Next to grands boulvards' theaters and shops. But the street is quite noisy and bedrooms are not well sound-isolated, so it was difficult to sleep in the evenings with the noise from the bar next door, and in the mornings with the cleaning staff in the corridors.

Not a great experience.
The location was decent. There were several roads and sidewalks which made it more difficult to get to the entrance. Staff was not friendly and it wasn’t until we checked out that one smiled at us. For an unknown reason we were given what looked like a handicapped accessible room. There was not a step in shower so the floor stayed wet all day. The hair dryer was across the room and not near a mirror. Room mirror was partially broken. We did not want housekeeping to come during our stay and they did anyway which upset us as we left our personal belongings out and they were moved around. The view to the street was nice but a bit loudness if you’re a light sleeper. The only good thing was the king bed was comfortable and air con worked.

It was clean, comfortable and in an excellent position, close to attractions, cafes and shops. It's a fantastic hotel and I would highly recommend.

Amazing location close to restaurants, supermarkets, the metro and more. Walking distance to the Louvre. Rooms are on the small size but the bathrooms are great. Overall we had a great stay!

The hotel is clean and the beds are comfortable but the rooms are tiny and have very low ceilings. This seems like. 2.5 star hotel, not a 3 star hotel. It is in a great area though and walkable to lots of places.
