"THERE IS NO SHUTTLE AND THE POOL WASN'T WORKING WHEN I ARRIVED. IT SEEMED TO BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION. THE PLACE WAS TOTALLY UNDERSTAFFED (THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE OFFICE) SO I HAD TO WAIT TWO HOURS FOR THE OWNER TO ARRIVE FOR CHECK-IN. BUT ALL THAT BEING SAID, THE OWNER IS AMAZING AND REALLY GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND DESPITE HER LACK OF ASSISTANCE. I WOULD ACTUALLY STAY HERE AGAIN , ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS RUNNING NORMALLY. THE ROOMS ARE REALLY BIG AND ITS A GREAT DEAL AT THIS PRICE FOR COUPLES/FAMILIES!"

"The food was phenomenal, and the room was beautiful with truly breathtaking views. The drive up was a thrill—we went all the way to the top of the mountain on a road that could only fit one vehicle, which was nerve wrecking for someone who doesn’t drive like that frequently. You are supposed to let staff know you are coming so there is no collision. The service was okay; it seemed like they may have been short-staffed because I had to go out of my way a few times to get help from staff. Overall though, it was still a memorable experience thanks to the incredible scenery and delicious food."

"This hotel has always been WONDERFUL. Sadly, I was taken sick at the last moment and could not travel to Costa Rica on the dates I planned. As a result, I was too ill to check my email and cancel this reservation. Therefore I forfeited the entire amount of my reservation. I understand that these are the terms of the contract I agreed to when I made my reservation. Therefore, I hold no ill will to Holiday Inn or Hotels.com. Hopefully, the next time I need to travel to Costa Rica to assist my sister I will stay healthy and accomplish my mission including a stay at the Holiday Inn in Alajuela."

"Staff were excellent, unfortunately except for the coffee shop, we found the restaurant food very mundane and overpriced. Steak House and sushi restaurant offerings require some TLC"
