Location
Be aware of the area. The hotel is located in a very old run down part of town. Its safe enough once you get comfortable with the area. It is centrally located and walkable. They need to train their maids. The conditioner had shampoo and so did the shampoo container. The shower gel was broken and when I mentioned it they just said yes. There was a soap dish near the sink but no soap!, i asked and was told to take the body wash from the shower. I insisted i get a bar of soap. Bed was thrown together. Breakfast is outstanding.

The property should make it more clear which rooms are within the hotel and which are the apartments nearby. The latter are less convenient. The hotel restaurant with a mini-pool was lovely and the staff was very friendly and generous. The reception team was less friendly and accommodating. Overall, a mixed experience. I suspect the stay at the hotel would be have been just fine. Good luck, enjoy Palermo!

Beware. I thought I booked the hotel but they said I booked their B &B. The Travelocity description is very deceptive. Nowhere does it mention B &B. I had to pay an up charge. Also they have lots of steps to the rooms. Makes it very difficult to carry luggage to room. I will not stay here again.

Dear guest, please note that there are 2 different accommodations. Casa Nostra Boutique Hotel that is a hotel and Casa Nostra B&B which is a Bed and Breakfast. Hope this helps.

I would not recommend this at all. We only found out this photo ad is a B&B and it is about few minutes walk from the main. As this establishment ARE not at desirable location and DO NOT have lift at all . I can not imagine what will happen if the staff CAN NOT help us with carrying 2 suitcases to the 4th stories room over an injured back !!!

Amazing place ! The staff is friendly and had good references for parking, places to go ... The hotel were the breakfast is served is absolutly stunning, breakfast is really good too, complete ! The room in the B&B was beautiful, perfectly clean, the view was gorgeous. Definitly recommand and definitly book again in this place !

Great Location in a nice clean room. Check-in was a bit confusing as it had to be done at another location 3 blocks away. As Americans with non functioning cell phones, we were unaware. Also unit was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so older patrons beware.

The staff was outstanding, particularly Alfredo, who came out to meet and escort us to the property. Rooms were newly refurbished , with very nice common areas. Location was excellent with easy access to popular areas.

Nice boutique hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Our room had street exposure; although a small street there are vendors starting preparations from 5:30am onwards. Our room was also close to the reception (it’s a small place!). Strongly recommend to get a room with courtyard exposure. The people/ staff at this place are truly lovely!

Great stay in Palermo!
Awesome! I've seen reviews where people felt unsafe in the neighborhood. The neighborhood is fine. We never felt unsafe. Some of it reminded me of NYC 1982. The best part of Casa Nostra is the team: Fabrizio, Lumi, Rosie, and Alfredo. They work hard and are so helpful. Fabrizio speaks perfect English. He arranged for us to be picked up at the airport, and arranged a taxi to the train station at checkout. We had the Capo room on the fourth floor. I'm quite fit now. Lol. We flipped over Palermo. What a town! We will be back🇮🇹❤️

Located at proximity to cathedral and Teatro Massimo, you can walk everywhere from the hotel. The room were large enough and had a nice bathroom. The people who took care of us were very nice and friendly.

Alfredo was wonderful when we checked in. He also gave us a lot of points on where to go, etc. The only negative was the noise from the market below. Alfredo also helped a LOT when the airline lost our luggage. We got it delivered the next day.

This NOT a hotel. As noted, there is no front desk. It appears the owner has four accommodations to let. Tw on rye third floor and two on the fourth. Each pair of rooms is served by a common breakfast roo,. Our room was on the fourth floor. I counted 64 stairs to climb up with our luggage; no lift. The bed was a type of memory foam, somewhat comfortable, except that with no center support you may roll toward the middle. Very nice, updated bathroom. Towels were only replaced upon our request. When using the shower, it sprayed onto the floor no matter how we tried to set it. Breakfast was very inconsistent. The first day the hostess/housekeeper cooked eggs in addition to an array of baked goods including cannoli as well as fresh fruits, yogurts, cereal, meats, cheese and toast. The second day, hard boiled eggs instead of cooked. The third and fourth days, no eggs at all and fewer baked goods. The house kihe first two days was easy to communicate with in Englis. The next two days, a different person who knew very little English. The rooms are nicely updated in an old building with a restaurant downstairs, where loud music is simetimes played. Also, the markets are right below on the street and if the window is open it can be noisy, but interesting to watch from the balcony.

Nice B&B!
Nice B&B to stay in Palermo, walking distance to everything. B&B is located inside of a local market, I liked it because it is the way you can fell the local daily life. Our host Alfredo was really kind and helpful to help us and providing tips, restaurants. The only thing not went so well is that the power was tripped off once. With Alfredo's help, we were able to get the electricity back. We turned off some extra lights then it doesn't happen after that.

Really beautiful accommodations....on the inside. All of Palermo looks pretty dingy from the outside, but don't let that deter you from staying at Casa Nostra. The host is very helpful in getting you into your room and we have a wonderful breakfast made by Laura I believe. Seriously I wish my home looked as nice as our room here. Really wonderful experience and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Unfortunately, I was only able to stay one night but I wished I could’ve extended my stay. Casa Nostra was very clean and modern, it reminded me of a room in Manhattan. The Hospitality Manager was beyond amazing, he provide tips and even called the restaurant I planned to visit to make sure they had space and they took credit cards. The B&B is pretty close to major sites but almost provided an authentic feel of Palermo. I would highly suggest staying here.

Even though, it was a bit challenging to find the place since even the GPS did not capture the exact spot. It is located in the very local place close to the markets. Alfred was super kind and helpful in checking in and providing tips. We enjoyed the stay a lot. There is a restaurant called Trattoria very close to the place at Piazzetta Porta Carini (1 min walk). Since it is located in the local markets, it does not look fancy, but the foods are surprisingly tasty, in particular grilled fish, They grill on the street. I highly recommend it.

100% perfect. The furnishings and finishes feel luxurious and upscale. The location is right in the heart of the action. Alfredo the host went above and beyond expectations to pick me up and guide me to the apartment, explaining everything clearly, and even offering his tips on dining and nightlife in Palermo. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to my friends.

A surprise behind closed doors
Alfredo our host could not have been any kinder or more informative , the room was extremely comfortable and with all the modern mod cons . We even found a tablet in the room explaining all about the area and tips for sites to visit etc . Breakfast was more than sufficient , continental with an array of sweets . Those with a sweet tooth will have a party :-) The area was very close to the centre and all amenities right at the edge of the marke . It looks a bit scary at first to a non local but we found it safe enough even walking back after midnight . A perfect Couple of days stay .

Very nice B&B. A great location in regards to the market place, shopping and historical areas. The property manager, Alfredo goes over and above to make sure all your needs and request are taken care of. The housekeeper is very sweet and prepares a wonderful breakfast each morning. They definitely make you feel like family.

I cannot say enough truly wonderful things about this property. The room itself was extra comfortable, the bathtub was luxurious, and the included breakfast was fantastic (Lumi—who set out the meal and made our drinks—was so sweet!). Alfredo (our host) went above and beyond to make our stay perfect—from booking us taxis for excursions/travel to advising us on great local restaurants to telling us where to find the best seats in the futbol stadium and helping us carry our heavy luggage up the stairs! The neighborhood is full of character and delicious eats (from street food to dining establishments) and located in walking distance to most everything—do not pass on this place! It was the perfect Palermo spot.

Shared apartment in central position
I spoke on the phone with owner Fabrizio when I booked. I explained that I need a bathtub, not just a shower, because I have a bad back; he was charming and assured me we would have room 'Mondello' for this reason. It was Alfredo who met us on arrival and did check-in. We were given a different room with only a shower as they had a plumbing problem with Mondello which meant the bath leaked into the flat below. I explained that the room with a shower was not an acceptable alternative and said I would not use the bath until the next morning when the room below would be unoccupied, and the plumber could come and fix the leak. This was agreed by Alfredo. However when he spoke to Fabrizio, who works in Dubai, Fabrizio reversed this decision and said if we didn't take the alternative room he would take our money anyway. The conversation (by WhatsApp) quickly became unpleasant. It was late in the evening, we were tired and hungry, and it looked as if we would have to find another hotel, and pay for both. In the end it was resolved that we could use the room we had booked, and we didn't use the bath until the next day. Alfredo was apologetic and embarassed The problem was that while Alfredo was on hand to deal with problems, and was delightful, he didn't have the owner's authority. Also the owner, having been charming and accommodating when I booked the room, was very quick to become confrontational once we had arrived, so we felt bullied. This was a horrible way to arrive.

Ciao Vicky and thanks for your review. I'm so sorry to read your comment and even surprise for it. I'm Fabrizio and like you know i'm the owner of Casa Nostra. I do a lot for my clients and Casa Nostra is really apfrecieted from all guests. Try to read all reviews, this is the first absolutely bad. I want to clarify the situation and to explain my point of view Point 1 I live and i work in Palermo, not in Dubai, the day of your arrival i was in Dubai just for 1 week and Alfredo organized your check in, helpening you at all. Point 2 We didn't have any conversation before your arrival where you informed me you need a room with bathtub. We spoke by whatsapp and i booked you a transfer to come to Casa Nostra, and i remember taxi driver waited you a coupple of hours because your flight had a little delayed. Point 3 I can confirm the day of your arrival we have had a problem with the bath of your room leaked into the flat below. And so for this reason we asked you to change room just for one night. Your check in was at 9 pm and so we asked to change room just for 12 hours because plumber would fixed this problem at 7.30 am like he did. Point 4 We do our best for our client, but we cannot guarantee the same room booked if there is a sudden problem, caused from another guest as happen that day. Point 5 When you said to me you wanted go away and find another hotel i answered “is your decision, you can do what you want, i’m offering another room, the best one of Casa Nostra and so if you qill go i have apply our policy cancellation. At the end you decided to stay in Casa Nostra and you make a good comments to Alfredo about your stay. For this reason i cannot understand your review after 2 months. Best regards Fabrizio

Excellent rooms in central location, but hidden.
Difficult to find "hotel". Only name on door bell as it occupies only the top 3 of 5 floors, so lots of stairs to carry the suitcases. Room and bathroom had a very high standard. The guy in the reception was extremely helpful. Very good breakfast provided. Location is into the old town warren. Market is in street behing hotel. Hotel has discounted parking (15 euro/night).

Excellent B&B in a the middle of old Palermo
We found this B&B by chance on Expedia site and chose it as a result of all the good reviews. Our expectations were fully met and we spent 8 nights in a comfortable, modern, spotless accommodation, right in the middle of one of Palermo's most characteristic markets, within walking distance from all the main attractions, amenities, restaurants and transport connections, including the free Historical Center Shuttle bus.Our room, part of a two bedroom flat, was perhaps not the biggest, but perfectly adequate, nicely furnished, with an extremely comfortable bed and lovely en suite. The common area, where we had our breakfast and the kitchen were available at all times and even on the last day after the official check out time. TV both in the room and common area, with a couple of film channels in English, if we wanted to stay indoors, which was not very often as the city offers so much to see and enjoy. The staff were exceptional, Fabrizio, Alfredo and Lumi did a fantastic job, nothing was too much trouble, a very nice continental breakfast in the morning and assistance and contact via phone and WhatApp 24 hours a day. They gave us plenty of suggestions, made some reservations and arranged transport from and to the airport and made sure we were comfortable and looked after. We fully enjoyed Palermo and its richness as well as Cefalu and Agrigento easily reached by train. Still plenty of things to go back to!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa Nostra. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The help we received with transportation to and from the airport was great. The local area that the B and B was in is a residential area and was authentic to Palermo and made us feel like we lived there.
