The breakfast, while affordably priced and offering a good variety, did have a small hiccup with the toaster incident, but such events are rare and handled professionally. Although the hotel could benefit from some minor refurbishments, it maintains a standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate. "The Hotel is approx 2 minutes walk from Torquay train station so very convenient . The foyer , entrance dining rooms bar area, swimming pool area are all excellently decorated in a style suitable for the age of the hotel, Th staff were also excellent. Our room was on the 3rd floor and we could use the stairs or lift. The room itself was practical and comfortable , but just a little bit dated compared to some other 4 start hotels of a similar age we have stayed in, as there was no air conditioning it would have been nice to have an electric fan to blow air around the room. In particular, the bathroom whilst functional , in my opinion could do with an update and a complete freshen up .....although it was perfectly usable. I cannot comment on any other room other than mine though and other rooms might have been updated. The bottom line is would i stay there again and the answer is YES. We really enjoyed our stay and the food at breakfast was varied and excellent. "
